3 of my work friends have started C25K following my success and massive weight loss. I am really pleased to see them starting their journey and a little proud that I have motivated them but.......
They are all much younger and slimmer than me and I don't want to share!!!!!! Haha ......awful I know!! It was just a passing thought! Honestly!
Seriously though, I am so happy to see them starting, you would think I was on commission with the way I encourage them to use C25K and this site! I really do wish them the best.....just not to do better than me πππ
I do try not to go on about my running and don't mention it unless someone asks but I lost quite a bit of weight after graduating and then suddenly everyone was interested π

I have tried to stop discussing C25K at work because there are a lot of serious runners in the office and they talk about speeds and distances all the time..and running tracker apps..leaving me feeling a bit demotivated..as I'm an old snail..I don't want them quizzing me about my progress as they are all 20plus years younger than me..π’π..I'm happy in the sanail club..
I know how you feel. One of the girls did a 5k fun run from no training at all and told me she did it in 30 minutes! I have been training for almost 4 months and can't do that time ππ’
Donβt worry about this peripheral stuff. Slow jogs is all we need to do
You'll still be doing it when your friends have crashed and burned
We have to be slow,to get strong to get faster. Rome wasnβt built in a day!
We chip away a bit at a time Youβll be amazed at what you can achieve π. Donβt worry about younger, faster folks. Itβs not about them. Other runners are supportive though, and I foresee one day youβll be chatting about such things π
I hate that. Iβm so desperate for sub 30. I know my colleague, who never runs but is a natural, would do it in less than that easily π€·π½ββοΈ
Sub 30 is hard! You have to get stronger first, which is why you keep slowly plugging away πͺ. Youβll get there if you keep working at it. Dogged determination π
Iβve had the same impact at work π I get down hearted when people who never run, go out and go faster than me when Iβm working so hard. Depressing.
It is depressing but I don't mind as I am determined to always be a runner. This is not the latest fad for me, yes I want to get better but I am just hoping I can be a runner for life. Luckily I am not overly competitive, there is always someone better and faster etc but that's okay. I am just really pleased with myself and I hope you are with yourself too x
I do understand that. I'm a loner, running is mine and mine alone. I like it that way. The forum is great for encouragement and things I've needed to know but I like not sharing it in real life! It feels like the one thing in life I have complete control over to do it my way!
