Delighted with myself. Ran 5k this evening for the first time ever. Cannot believe that I achieved that. In 42 mins so OK for an old bird.

An old 🐦 bird, but young in heart, congratulations Rungranny on running a 5K, sub 45 minutes, very good, not long now until you will be able to run a 5K in less than 40 minutes, onwards and upwards 🏃🏾 👍

Many congratulations on that first 5k. I dunno about old birds, the average person can’t run a mile... you just went 3.11... that’s more than OK at any age.

Fantastic! Feels great doesn't it .👍

I just ran my first 5k on Wk9R2. I managed 5k in 37.5 mins as it just felt right to go for it.

I am 51 and more than happy with my time.

Looking to build on running time rather than speed starting after graduation on thur 😁

Old bird eh! 😁 Twenty one with added experience, if anyone's asking 😂 Oh but doesn't it feel great RG, keep posting those runs, you're in good company. (There's a few of us old birds over on the bridge to 10k if you ever fancy wandering over for a look around)

Thanks grumpy, I'm happy to stay put for now. Plan is to consolidate these 5k runs to prove to myself it wasn't a fluke.

Then join the Park Run community. That should provide enough of a challenge for now. Need to work on speeding up a bit.

Definitely recommend parkrun, good luck. When you're ready, I expect I'll still be there, trying to reach that magic 10!

Well done you. I did my first full 5k this morning in 36 minutes and I am pleased with that. Ps at 57 years old I am an old bird too.
