Just done Wk 4 Run 3. Am debating whether to repeat Week 4 or move on to Week 5. It seems a big step up in terms of continuous running. Advice anyone ?

All the runs up until now have prepared you for wk5 . Trust the plan and believe in yourself. Good luck 😊

Thanks. I was surprised I managed Week 4 Run 1, so maybe I follow Sarah M’s recorded advice and β€œ Just go for it flower β€œ πŸ˜‚

Hi Tedsews, trust in the program & move on to Week 5. Program builds mental & physical fitness & stamina so go for it. Good luck with your running πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

Thank you. I’ll give it a go on Monday & if it’s too much I can always repeat Week 4.

Go for it. Start the run believing you will do it, and I'm confident that you will. The advances are so gradual on this programme that you don't feel like you can have done enough to be capable of doing them, but I graduated yesterday having repeated no runs and been scared to death after the first one because I was so terrible!!!

Be brave, we are all here to support and celebrate when you come back.

Thanks Spike75. It is exactly that: β€œ Self belief β€œ. My new mantra will be β€œ I can do this !” πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Two posts to read to help you make the decision:

This one about general mental approach healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and this breakdown of Week 5 healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

You can do this.

Thank you. Your John Landy example of overcoming mental barriers has hit home. Am now focussing on talking positively to myself & others. β€œ I can & I will run Week 5 Run 3 next Friday”. πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈ

I’ve just completed week 5 and like you I didn’t think I could do it but I did. If you have completed all the runs in week 4 then you should be absolutely fine. Good luck!

Go for it. I remember feeling like that before every run πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ. Just follow the plan and start slow stay slow and end slow. It’s time on legs not a race. Do that and you will smash it.
