I completed run 3 of week 9 just 2 weeks ago and have been out for a run 3 times a week since I graduated. I am sticking to running 30 minutes with the 5 minutes warm up and warm down. It is definitely getting easier!! I run either outside when the weather is dry or in the gym if it is raining. My legs are fine but I still struggle with the breathing as I feel my lungs aren’t big enough!! I have lost approx. 4 kgs and definitely feel fitter since I started the programme so am delighted!! So, anyone reading this post, please persevere no matter how tough you find the first weeks as I was barely able to run for 90 seconds when I started out. I am 62 years old and work in a sedentary job so if I can do this so can you!!

Congratulations on completing c25k you must be so pleased well done. Also to help with your breathing try slowing down again it's the only thing that helps. 😊😊😊👏👏👏
Good morning Buddy34, for my midweek run this morning I ran a 5K on the exact course around Broadwood Loch as the annual Santa Dash is held in December, I have not done that run, however, the time I ran that route this morning was 32.11, a better time than the previous time I ran it in October 2018.
It's now all go for my next 5K this Saturday for Dunfermline's 200th Parkrun, cake at end????
Have you ever ran the Santa dash AlMorr.
I'm sure you told me it's Dunfermline 100th parkrun birthday is that correct
200th, sorry about me saying 100, being carried away by the occasion 😊🏃🏾
I have not ran the Santa Dash although for the last few years I have been a spectator cheering the runners on, if any of my friends in the walking club decide to run in it I will as well, one of the men in the Thursday walking club is doing C25K, however, he got injured on week 4, so it looks likely as in the last few years I will be down at Broadwood cheering the Santas on.
Congratulations on running 5K and graduating from C25K, I notice the word graduate is NOT next to your username if you wish to have it tell the administrators that you ran run 3 of week 9 and have graduated.
Wow what an amazing achievement! Well done 👍👏🎶🥳✅
Try slowing your run right down until breathing isn’t an issue!! 🐌🐌 You can always pick up pace towards the end of the run. Your lungs need to catch up with your legs & the only way to build them up is SLOW running!
Congratulations on joining the over 60s graduates scubadiva. Feel free to pop over to the bridge to 10k forum and join the conversations there. Slowing down will improve your breathing situation. But I have found that when I increased my running distance my breathing has improved overall.
Enjoy your running whatever you decide to do.
That’s so good to hear, well done you 😁
Well done it’s great we can run in our sixties isn’t it? Your lungs will catch up, if i go too fast i puff like a steam train
You saying that you puff like a steam train has made me realise that I must sound like a fog horn as people walking ahead of me as I approach them, actually stop and turn around to find out what the noise is!! How embarrassing now that I know why the stop!!! 😂😂
Congratulations on your graduation fellow runner.

It is recommended that you spend 75-80% of your running time at a pace at which you can speak clear ungasping sentences as you run.
Keep running, keep smiling.
