Hi I'm on week 7 and I've just tried to complete the last run and failed. My calf's from week 6 have had excruciating pain in them when I run which disappears when I stop running.
This run however has been the worst I couldn't get past 13 minutes and I've come hold and can still feel pain in my calf's and tops of my legs,.
Last week a took a 3 day break hoping they were just tired but there's been no improvement and it seems to be getting worse.
I feel so disappointed. I'm running slow. I've changed my route, I've gone back to my old route and bought new trainers.
I've also started stretches for my calf's
If anybody knows how to stop this? I welcome any advice

You haven't failed. You may have an injury. Stop running. Get medical advice. It is annoying (a feeling I know only too well) but you need to get it properly sorted now so you can avoid doing greater damage.
Thanks everyone. Finally went to GP who put me on injury couch and says I have to do my own thing g from week 6. She said my calf's can't handle the jump from week 6 to week 7 and it needs to be gradule. So one more week off Bern doing stretches to help but will see how I get on in a weeks time.
How are you getting on Luczlukz ? Just saw your post and wondered if you'd managed to get off injury couch and how your calves were doing?
Just a note to go back to the doc and be a pest if this keeps happening or doesn't improve - and look out for any other issues with your legs and feet which may be related. I have had painful calves for years and thought they were just shin splints but earlier this year they got a LOT worse and walking fast for 5 minutes became unbearable (although running is OK!) ... I am now being tested for compartment syndrome as a result further investigations (where the fascia surrounding your muscle compartments doesn't stretch as normal). It has caused me repeated bouts of plantar fasciitis (got it at the moment in fact!), knee pain and Achilles tendinopathy - although I never realised they were all caused by my calves! If compartment syndrome is confirmed, it will mean an op (ugh) BUT I'm hoping that will bring all the related issues to a stop!
