W5D1 after a two week break

Two weeks ago, I managed to get a blister on the bottom of my foot while on holiday. I had all the good intentions of running during my holiday but could only get the one run in.

I'm now back into it after babying it for two weeks. I thought about going back to week 4, but week 5 feels right and running this morning felt good.

Part of me found it hard to get out of bed at 5 this morning to go run, but I'm very glad I did.

I won't meet my stretch goal of completing the program with no interruptions but I am on track to meet my overall goal of finishing by the end of the year. Can't complain about that!

Happy running 😊

Thank you very much! It's so easy to quit but I'm determined not to. :)

It's great you're back running. You did the right thing by letting your blister heal first as sometimes continuing with running could have made it worse.

Well done you 😊

It's been a long two weeks! But I'm very glad I let it fully heal. I thought about only resting it for one week but the extra week made all the difference.

Thank you :)

Blisters are horrible, definitely right to let it heal. Padded running socks can help prevent them - I wear Karrimor ones and they are really comfortable.

I'm going to look into getting some padded socks! Many people have mentioned them on this forum.

Thank you 😊
