Repeating a run after a break

I was doing well on the programme and reached the end of week 4, ready to start week 5, running consistently every other day. But I then was ill and I have had a whole two weeks off. I repeated the run from week 4 today and managed OK. Is it OK for me to go on to week 5 next, or should I repeat another week 4 run? I feel inclined to try week 5, but I don’t want to set myself up to fail at it.

As stated in the guide to the plan, healthunlocked.com/couchto5... you lose no significant condition in the first two weeks of non running, as you have proved.

After that loss of condition is gradual.

Carry on with the plan.

I would say go with it !

You have repeated a week 4 run so go onto week 5.

I had 16 days off after week 8 run 1 then carried on afterwards with run 2 ok.

Give it a go , you have nothing to loose 👍

Unless its your body telling you not to, listen to the veterans on here and go for it!

As others have said, go for it!

Thanks, all. I went on to do Week 5 run 1 and all was fine, and today, two days later, I’ve just done Week 5 run 2 - still fine, despite the wind!
