However, today was the first day that I actually felt really good about it.
I know it’s only week 2 run 1, but I didn’t feel like I struggled at all, I felt good when I got home and I recovered quickly.
Perhaps it’s pride before a fall, but I’m quite proud of myself for getting out of the door too.
I didn’t sleep well, I hadn’t prepared all of my stuff the night before like I normally do, and I couldn’t find my running top, ended up going out in just an old long sleeved top. But I did it and I’m feeling good about that.
Must admit though, I haven’t had the real test. Running in dark and fog is one thing (I actually quite like that), but I have yet to be tested by rain.
But, it’s October and it’s the North of England, so I’m sure that test is just around the corner.
Have a great day everybody.

Funny, coz I shudder at the idea of running in the dark, fog I think I could handle, but really enjoyed running in the rain. It keeps you cool and the streets are generally pretty empty, which I am starting not to care much about!
I am not talking about sideways freezing rain though and I am not looking forward to running in the middle of winter! I suggest wearing a cap in the rain to stop it getting in your eyes, especially if you wear glasses (or you will need windscreen wipers!)
Well done RunningMigster ...you got out there, in the fog and the cold and you weren't even put off by your running top going astray! When you say you are 'ONLY' on week 2 run 1, that's something to celebrate..you're smashing it if you came back feeling good obviously. Don't worry about the rain, it brings a whole different feeling to a run, I find it quite liberating...there's a lot of us on here that love the rain so you'll just have to embrace it...I know it's on it's way up here, I watched it sneaking up the weather map on the telly this morning...We're waterproof, put a hat on to stop it from running into your eyes so you can at least see where you're going and as long as it's not torrential and doesn't double your body weight, you'll carry on doing your thing rain or shine! Good luck for when it happens
Awesome work in getting out. Glad you liked it. I did c25k earlier this year and am now up to 8k but I can honestly say those early runs were more of a challenge than the 8k is now. Keep up the good work. I like running in the rain - not the frozen sleet stuff just the normal British liquid sunshine
Well done RunningMigster, you're scorching through this. Well done too for shrugging off little things like not finding your running top and going out in the dark and fog. The addiction is obviously getting to you too now, but I'm relieved to have another nocturnal running in the gang! I'm expecting rain for my planned run on Saturday morning but I have a waterproof top and although my joggers aren't, I know that my legs underneath are so I should be OK (and hopefully a bit cooler). Keep it up mate, you are doing really well.
So encouraging to hear this! I live in the NE & found the rainy runs were fun ☔️ My biggest lesson has been embracing whatever the weather throws at me. It’s a challenge but worthwhile to get the run done 🤣 You are doing amazingly well & the feel good factor is the reward of running! Well done👍
Great stuff, well done. I think it’s a boost when you do the first run of a new week as it’s a bit daunting. But when you finish it’s a great feeling. I admire anybody that gets up and does their run first thing and in the dark. I don’t think I could do that. Pat on the back for you ✋🏼😁
That’s brilliant RunningMaster! 😃You enjoyed the cold and dark, so you don’t need to worry about the rain at all!! You’ll master it, just like you did today. Massive well done to you! There’s only more pride to come! Keep us posted! 🤗❤️
