Consolidated runs wk2

My first run this week was week 2 of consolidated running, my fourth since graduating. After up for work at 4.15am, I don’t get home until 3.30pm so my run was late in the day. I’m usually an early morning runner but today I was running in the afternoon warmth of the sun so I made sure I had a big drink before heading out. Felt the sweltering heat and completed 2.95 miles in 34 mins. A bit slower than my usual pace but as I was running in the heat I needed to pace myself as this was unknown territory. A “happy to see me” dog jumped up and pulled my earphones off me which made me laugh but his owner was not impressed by his dogs behaviour - I’m a dog person so I didn’t mind lol but which cost me a bit of time but all in all it was a good run that I’m pleased about.

Great running after being up since 4.15am. Glad you didn't mind the dog he probably wanted to join you on your run. Well done you 😊😊

Great consolidation work. Well done coping with the heat and change of routine. Don’t worry about pace being up and down, this is all about making your run comfortable.

Thanx too UNM, I did wonder how I would get on given that I was running out of my comfort zone and yes I’ll certainly take that 👍

My second run this week was in the heat this afternoon and Ive only gone and done 3.11 miles !! Broken the 5km barrier !! Did it in 36.43 which I am well chuffed about !! I was determined to do it today as it’s my birthday and I just wanted to break that barrier where I fell short on my last two runs. I’d like to say it was like Rocky IV but no, I was fatigued haha 😂 keep running everyone it’s a beautiful day !
