Morning gang, my scheduled running day was actually yesterday - but this was also my sons 17th birthday. So in amongst wfh, surprise driving lessons, afternoon conference calls that overran, surprise visit from the plumber who i’d thought had forgotten me and a planned family birthday meal - I just didn’t get the time to run.... I was thinking of doing a park run this morning, just to get a time. But I’m glad I didn’t.... I snoozed instead!
Quality snoozes are rare for me, but when I get them, I’m going to bloody well enjoy it! Snooze completed, I get up at 8.30 (half the day gone already!). It’s the party / gathering of the 17yr old tonight, so I need to go out soon or I’m gonna get taken over again (the joy of 4 kids in the house - 3 of which are teenagers!)
So I drink a coffee, pair some socks, out some washing on..... hang on.... wtf are you doing man!? Get out there and run!
I don’t know! Everything’s become more important, it’s like doing my exams all over again!!
Eventually get my backside into gear and get in the car, back to my wooded circuit @ danish camp. Driving there I’m actually nervous.... my heart beating fast, dry mouth.... what’s going on? Then I connect the dots - it’s Week 9...... this is what it’s all about.
I arrive, stretch and start the app and to walk. Today I want to know how far I run in 30 minutes. So I don’t start Strava until the warm up walk is done and stop it immediately..... results in the photo. 30mins = 4.2km (Not including the 10 min walk)
2 of you were so fast on Strava you’ve given kudos before I even managed to finish the write up! (You know who you are 💋)
So, managed the 30 minutes but not the 5k running..... but who cares! The knee is fine, I am fine and I didn’t need to be nervous at all...... but it was bloody roasting out there!
