Westgate Run and Walk 5k Route.

I am lucky to have a 5k Route which I can follow at the end of my road. This is thanks to Suffolk County Council and the local Town Council. There are 3 routes in my Town and this week I have been following one of these 5k routes. Unusually for Suffolk its quite undulating and some of it off road beside a river bank. I am going to use a lot as a circuit rather than the out and back I've been doing up to week 3.

I completed wk 4 run 2 today and of course at my speed with a total of 16 minutes running I can't get entirely around the 5k course.

On the music player today I heard Dixie Chicks, Dido, Idles, Dexys, Bowie, Beautiful South and Beady Eye

Onwards and Upwards

It's great to have a choice of where to run and picking new routes keep your running interesting. Well done you 😊

You are doing great.👍 Many people aren't near 5k in 30min by the end of the programme. The aim is just 30min continuous running, you need something to aim for in the consolidation weeks😉 your routes sound great, nicely accessible. Keep up the good work.

No I doubt I will be. In fact I haven't really looked at speed as you say its all time on your feet aiming for duration.

Dont be tempted to look at distance I did and it made me very disappointed. Speed seems to come in lady couple of weeks when you just run. Have fun

Sounds ideal. I guess you turn round at the bell 🔔 Good way of assessing your fitness as you go further before turning back. Are they all circuitous routes? Like your music choices. I may have to invest in a different music 🎶 player!

Thanks no I must admit this week I have just carried on to do the whole 5k. So when Laura finishes I carry on with extra walk and runs. I know it's breaking all the rules!
