Haven’t posted for a while, but have been religiously completing my consolidation runs 🏃🏻♂️🏃🏻♂️every other day.
All has been going well ... each run I’ve managed to run 5k and the last 4 before today’s run were sub 30 mins.
So today I went out looking to run the usual 30 min / 5k ... but .... I started off at a slower pace .. my 1st 1km is always my slowest ... no idea why given its when I’m freshest ... but noted the 1st km today was slower than normal ... after seeing the time ... I thought 🤔 right Ian, change of plan !!
So I brought my Friday plan forward ... of adding 10% of my weekly run time on to one run ... and decided today is a 39 min run 🏃🏻♂️
Now that decision meant I had to quickly think of a new route 🗺.... as would be longer than my past routes ... so quick thought and I veered left instead of straight on.
Now the new route included a bl00dy steep hill ! One I walked at start of C25K to get a judge of what 5k looked like ... still remember thinking ... “how far, I’ll never do that 😫!” ... but today I was feeling good ... and I did that hill ... won’t deny it wasn’t the easiest... but was running up it like a seasoned runner.
As you’ll see today covered over 6k ... actually felt I could run longer when I stopped but am not going to get over confident... pleased with the pace at 6.13 per km too (and yep even my 6k split was faster than my 1k ! 🤔) ... back to 30 mins for Weds and Fri ... but today, was a good day 😀
