Happy Solstice folks:)

Here we are again, and the year is moving on

Autumn is upon us in all its glory... although certainly, we are having some really warm days...

I have been keeping up with my runs, with some great short ones and a few lovely long relaxed runs.. I got caught out yesterday by thunder and lightning, but managed to get a quick one in, in between rain showers!

There are so, so many of us running now and doing the most amazing things... This is a great place to share your thoughts and your running plans with each other:)

The number of folk on the forum is still increasing... we can hardly keep track! It s tricky to keep up with everyone's progress... it is great to have a little fun post, so we can see who is on which week of the programme, and hopefully it will help everyone to feel more included on the forum.

I apologise if I miss posts or replies, as there really are a lot of us!

We can support, encourage and generally help each other, in a positive and friendly way, with no thought of comparison.

Please remember it doesn't matter if you stay on the same week for a while, that is fine; it is a journey and it really doesn't matter how long it takes, it will be so worth it when you get to the final run.

If you have just Graduated, also, this will be a great place to keep you motivated, and there is a brand new Quest on here, every month too...please do take a look and join in!

This month..our awesome IannodaTruffe is hosting it!

The Search for an Indian Summer Quest! WOW!

One of the best things about this weekly chat is that you can TALK to each other, support and encourage each other and find folk on the same week or run as you.

Take a peek here and join in the conversation !

So, please do come and join the fun...just slip off your running shoes, and just let us know how it is going :)

Morning Oldfloss, I’m at W7R2, haven’t run since Wednesday due to turning my ankle on Thursday playing football. It’s really frustrating not being able to get out and run, but I think I’ll be waiting until tomorrow at the earliest😫

I couldn't agree more! Autumn is awesome. A little chilly so you can put on a jumper while eating some really warming food. Plus the trees look beautiful with their last explosion of colour before winter.

I am !! W4R1 last Saturday and this evening W4R2.

I survived my first run although the last set was difficult!!

How are you doing?

CheeryLittlebottom profile image
CheeryLittlebottom in reply to xx2000

I was doing great until this week. I did W4R1 on Sunday and got a bit of knee and calf pain from half way through, but otherwise enjoyed it. But I had my first bad run this morning with W4R2. My legs were feeling heavy and I got a bit of knee pain again, but I think the main problem was that it was drizzling, grey and dark. I miss my beautiful dawn skies :-( Also I decided that it's now getting too dark to run along the river on my morning runs which was disappointing. But felt really good that I still finished it and the hot shower when I got home felt great! Just telling myself to stick with it now.

How was your W4R2 yesterday?

xx2000 profile image
xx2000Graduate in reply to CheeryLittlebottom

It was fine. I move faster than in my first run although still turtle pace acording to muy app. The first half was perfect, but un the last 5 minutes I had more leg problems, they were feeling really heavy. I have a playlist of songs that fit more or less the running/walking changes so I found easy the runs becauase I know the song so I can anticipate when It is going to finish.

Good luck for Next run !! I Will try tomorrow evening ... I dont like to wake Up early !!!

Morning Oldfloss. I’m doing my 10 mile training programme now an tomorrow will be the third week. I’m doing this just to see if I’m capable of doing it them maybe just maybe I could do the GNR next year....we will see.

Weather is glorious and this is my favourite time of the year!

For the moment today hubby and I are enjoying a cuppa and we are watching the rugby awaiting the Wales🏈🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 and Georgia game to begin! Come on boys !

Great to see Gareth Thomas a lot happier in himself since his brave revelation .

Anyway have a great day 🤗🤗x

I’ve just run 5k for the first time! In the rain 32mins 30 seconds not bad for a 48 year old with a knackered back.

Afternoon oldfloss. I have just completed week 4. The first 5 were a struggle but I worked 3 nights finishing Sunday morning so I knew it would quite possibly be hard. Planning to start week 5 on Wednesday but working a 12 hour shift tomorrow so will see how I feel and try and take it steady 🏃🏽‍♀️

Good morning, OF! I have been off running this past week due to a cold. I plan on walking a couple miles when the sun comes up again here today just to get my "sea legs" moving again--then I'll resume running with something slower/easier tomorrow in order to get back in the swing of things.... Thanks for being there, OF!

Oldfloss profile image
OldflossAdministratorGraduate in reply to LiisaM

Still here..sometimes a tad behind with replies..I hope you're feeling better?

Just take it steady...xx

Well, I didn't get a walk or "official" run in, but I wound up running outside TWICE while I was cooking when I noticed a certain recalcitrant husband trying to wheelbarrow a load of old lumber up to our back forty. I had to catch him before he got too far because we had discussed putting it in the pole barn. He wanted to dump it in the back of our lot (against our discussion.) I'm hoping for a better day today because yesterday was the pits and I didn't get two things done that I had planned on doing, including some SCHEDULED outdoor exercise.

Morning, my first post on here...I have been lurking in the background reading all the great advice and tips! I start C25K on the 1st July after some encouraging words from a close friend and I am due to complete W7R1 in about an hour after my breakfast has gone down... I have been putting it off since Sunday, but I am finding my body needs a longer recovery time in between runs now the runs are getting longer...

Oldfloss profile image
OldflossAdministratorGraduate in reply to Pingy66

I need to check your post to see how it went! Well done you..

Just keep it slow and steady as the runs get longer. You need to up your strength and stamina work too, as they get longer.x
