My photo is of my feet... relaxed and paddling in the sea at Criccieth
I am hoping to get my running shoes on this week, and maybe get some coastal runs in... after an all clear, for a very, very slow and steady phase back in to my running.....Yeayayayayy!
The number of folk on the forum increases daily...( the numbers are truly frightening), and although it is tricky to keep up with everyone's progress... it is great to have a little fun post, so we can see who is on which week of the programme, and hopefully it will help everyone to feel more included on the forum.
I apologise if I miss posts or replies, as there really are a lot of us!
We can support, encourage and generally help each other, in a positive and friendly way, with no thought of comparison.
Please remember it doesn't matter if you stay on the same week for a while, that is fine; it is a journey and it really doesn't matter how long it takes, it will be so worth it when you get to the final run.
If you have just Graduated, also, this will be a great place to keep you motivated, and the new Quest on here too...this month it is called..Jaunty June!!!
One of the best things about this weekly chat is that you can talk to each other, support and encourage each other and find folk on the same week or run as you.
So, please do come and join the fun...slip off your running shoes, and just let us know how it is going

A really nice photograph of your feet Floss, once I buy proper running shoes and socks after I have a gait analysis, I will take a photograph of my new shoes and socks.
Oh yes very relaxing photo, hopefully we get more sunshine so we can all have a paddle at some point . Done my very first 5k yesterday in 29.49 I'm so pleased the run just felt so natural and I really enjoyed it. But as I said in my post yesterday I couldn't have got where I am today without c25k and all the support, advice and encouragement on here , so thank you ππ
Well done OF so pleased youβve been given the all clear to get running again. Iβve just started week 8, completing the first run in the afternoon sunshine today. Canβt believe I only have 5 runs left until graduation. Loving the photo, am missing having the seaside down here to be able to go sploshing about in this heat.
Woohoo @Oldfloss, I am so pleased for you! My June goals have been to continue running three times a week (ongoing), complete another Parkrun which I did today (overslept and missed it last weekend!), take part in my first ever 5km race on 9 June and start the Bridge to 10k magic plan which is 8 weeks long and I completed Week 1 with a new PB at Parkrun today. Phew!
In a moment of optimism, I have entered the ballot for the London Landmarks Half Marathon next March. Will find out by the end of the month if I have been successful... Not quite sure whether I am hoping for a yes or a no! π
Good to hear youβre clear to get back into things Oldfloss. Iβve just graduated so not sure what Iβm doing next. Having a think about maybe trying to get to 5k as I havenβt quite managed it yet in the 30 minutes. Iβm not the fastest runner though so maybe just concentrate on maintaining what Iβm doing now π€
Just off out now, thank you! Try mixing things up a bit maybe... and get some longer, slower, relaxed runs in. They are perfect for building up stamina and strength, and eventually speed and distance
Hope you had an ice creamππ, Iβm doing my graduation run next Saturday at Mansfield Parkrun, been tough at times but stick with it and youβll get there, I had to miss a couple of weeks and go back a bit, but just so happy to be able to get my trainers on again, after nearly a years lay off due to a bad back when even walking made me cry, now Iβm smiling again, good luck all and most importantly enjoy the journey x
Hi yer Oldfloss! Crap week with no CT5K practice at all....so far the plan is not repeat week 4, but to get on with week 5 and repeat that. All the best to all in the coming week!!
Hi you... well run the runs and see how you feel.. steady and slow is the way..believe me.. after my first run out after the IC this morning... it really is the only way! x
I had 2 weeks off with a bug followed by a trip to Spain at the end of May, start of June. Must say, it's quite difficult to get back into the swing of things after a break but I'm pushing through. Even took my 2 boys out with me yesterday morning and looped them while running. They were more eager at the start of the run than the end π
Nice feet oldfloss! I'm back after 2 weeks of chest infection. Just repeated w6r1 and managed to do it without stopping to cough. Nice flat run from Borth to the cob at Porthmadog.
My plan is to get back to running for 30min. I hurt my calf muscle in a run a few weeks ago - don't know how or why - only a couple of weeks after graduating. After a couple of days I could move around without too much discomfort so I have taken it easy since then - walks only. Earlier this week I managed a 5min run and a couple of days later a 15min. This morning I was looking to run for longer and managed 25min but stopped just before an uphill section which I thought might stress my tired calf muscles. Next week I'm planning two 30minute runs.
30 min run completed successfully. Bit slower than before, but not unexpected with trying to return to fitness. Also weather quite a lot warmer than previous outings. π‘οΈβοΈπ. I think I might prefer ποΈ toπfor a while. Early(ish) morning run on Sunday should be cooler.
Lovely photo, Oldfloss .Looks very summery! I completed W6R2 this morning, running along the canal side at 7.30am. Last interval run of the programme, which is a bit worrying, but have managed everything so far, so am trusting that I will be ready for the longer runs ahead π°. Next run Tuesday. Happy running, everyone!
I am about to complete my final week of an improvers course run by my local running club. This is about extending time on feet, so I am now up to 75 mins for my long run. Not that I run particularly far, still slow. Thanks to C25K I have found new friends and new confidence, to the point I am now a run director for my local parkrun.
Iβm taking a few days off and hoping to do another parkrun Sat (50/50 about πββοΈ club Wed - for 1 I may have an interview to prep for, for Fri) x
For now Iβm happy to plod on before deciding on my next course of action but not ruling anything out - see what happens π€ xx
Lovely feet Floss, pleased you are getting there, slow and steady is good. Cricceth is a lovely place, enjoy your runs there ππ½ββοΈππ½ββοΈπ
My feet could have done with some treatment like that yesterday, although no one needs to see my hairy hobbit toes...
So, yesterday, Edinburgh Race for Life - healthunlocked.com/couchto5... - a tough one but I still managed my third best 5k time. Also, somewhere during that run, according to Garmin, I clocked up my 2,000,000th step for 2019!
So, this week, I have my Level 2 SRU refereeing course all weekend, and I'm also recovering from yesterday, so I suspect it's just a two run week (when did running twice a week become a "just"?), but a break will do my legs good.
Can't quite get over the fact that this time next week we'll be in July...
