What is your week August week 1

Hello runners:)

Here we are again another month gone and still so changeable with the weather ๐Ÿ˜€.

So many of us running now and doing the most amazing things... This is a great pace to share your thoughts and your running plans with each other:)

I am running three times a week now and slowly getting back to..errr... speed ( ha ha )!

The number of folk on the forum is still increasing... we can hardly keep track! It s tricky to keep up with everyone's progress... it is great to have a little fun post, so we can see who is on which week of the programme, and hopefully it will help everyone to feel more included on the forum.

I apologise if I miss posts or replies, as there really are a lot of us!

We can support, encourage and generally help each other, in a positive and friendly way, with no thought of comparison.

Please remember it doesn't matter if you stay on the same week for a while, that is fine; it is a journey and it really doesn't matter how long it takes, it will be so worth it when you get to the final run.

If you have just Graduated, also, this will be a great place to keep you motivated, and the new Quest on here too...please do take a look and join in!

One of the best things about this weekly chat is that you can TALK to each other, support and encourage each other and find folk on the same week or run as you.

So, please do come and join the fun...slip off your running shoes, and just let us know how it is going :)

Please do, also, take extra care when running in the heat...and maybe check out the post on hydration.

W9R2 this morning. Bit disappointed as 5K (slow jog after 30 mins and walked up steepish hill for about 250mtrs) was 36.5mins. Consoled myself by saying you're nearly at 74 so that's ok - hmm

Realfoodieclub profile image
RealfoodieclubGraduate in reply to Skeg

You are doing great, each run is a day spent off the couch. Rfc x

Sarigne profile image
SarigneGraduate in reply to Skeg

Don't be disappointed! I graduated in June and am just now working up to doing a 5K in 35 minutes, at least that's the goal... there's no room in C25K for disappointment, only being proud of yourself for your achievements. :)

Thanks. Yep more positives than not. Hopefully tomorrows last C25K run will go as good as the previous.

Hello RFC and all! Week 6 for me this week - excited and remembering lots of people seem to find this week hard after the thrill of W5R3 - so Iโ€™m focusing on slow and steady ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Slow and steady, indeed! W6R1 is tricky, but it will also show you how far you've come whilst preparing you for the slightly longer intervals.

Spending August working on keeping to 30 min runs 3 times a week, but seeing if my pace or the distance improves (it already has a little), but also not putting any pressure if it doesn't. So first run I did my fastest first km yet, and today I did a very slow run but a new and hillier route. Still getting used to it.

Realfoodieclub profile image
RealfoodieclubGraduate in reply to arbitrarygenius

Sounds like a plan, billers runs will be helping you work on your pace, have a great week. Rfc x

Yup...:) U graduated too... are u doing it again. I'm doing it so that I can get on to 10k and finally HM and M by next year

Fatgirlslim19 profile image
Fatgirlslim19Graduate in reply to FairyTales

Those are great targets! I've got a 10k in November that I'm building up to. So I'm trying to do 1 long run and 2 shorter ones a week. I say 'trying' because with the school holidays everything is out of the window!

FairyTales profile image
FairyTalesGraduate in reply to Fatgirlslim19

Same here ... school here will open on 13th and that's when I can target more. What do u do on alternate days ...off run days. I normally walk or do yoga Sun Salutations.

Fatgirlslim19 profile image
Fatgirlslim19Graduate in reply to FairyTales

We walk every day but not always very far! Monday's term time I do an awesome yoga class. But mainly the rest days I am just busy with normal life stuff which doesn't leave much time for anything else.

Time to step up the training... graduated about two weeks ago and have been consolidating, and just had notification that my late entry to the Spitfire 10k has been accepted!! Just under 4 weeks to go!

I will not break any records....but, Iโ€™ve got this!!๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช

Realfoodieclub profile image

What distance are you at now? 5 - 10 km in four weeks is pushing it a bit, I would think about some walk intervals if you are at 5km now, exciting times ๐Ÿ˜€ Take care. Rfc x

Just ran W6R1 today - a bit odd after running 20mins non-stop on Sunday. I think Iโ€™m a bit addicted to it now! Wanna run everyday - but I donโ€™t. My motivation for running was to get me out of the prediabetic range (had GD with my last baby) and kick start weightloss and just aim to healthier as I head to my 40s. I even booked my blood test in for 1st week of September so hopefully with changes to my diet too Iโ€™ll no longer be prediabetic!!

Realfoodieclub profile image
RealfoodieclubGraduate in reply to S0n1a

That run is a strange one, people react differently to it. ๐Ÿ˜€, good luck on you diabetic test in September, the muscles you are building will help with your levels. Rfc x
