Hi Pdb48. Congratulations on graduating. Great feeling isn’t it. You are a proper runner!

I think that your inner Mo is not as important as your inner SLOW.

Most of us as here for fitness and fun, I think. Please now spend some time enjoying being happy that you can run for over thirty minutes. Get used to the idea. You don’t have to set a new World record each run. Settle back and enjoy the views, the smells, the wind in your face.

You will be quite ready to take part in a ParkRun. Note it is ParkRUN, not RACE. Take your barcode with you and start off towards the back. Try to find your own pace and stick to it. Don’t worry about others passing you. They have their own targets in their heads. Just aim to finish comfortably. That is enough for the first time. You will never be last! Enjoy the experience.

You could be sneaky and volunteer as a Marshal next week. See what to expect and ‘pay your dues’ in advance, ready to appreciate all those folks who will cheer you around the course, the following week.

Yes you are ready. Do not try to go fast. Enjoy your runs.
