Afternoon you lovely lot!

After 2 days rest, today was PG1R1. I originally intended to do a park run but I ended up not going to bed until 1am after picking 17 yr up from a concert (trains were stuffed!)

So decided to go back to Danish Camp 5k circular route. Luke (19) also came with me again this morning. After dad taxi and some other chores, got there about 10.30 - already 28degrees.... omg! I thought it would be cooler!

We ran the route and I had to stop for 30 secs to give my legs a break (or face plant!) I have never been so hot!.... I was soaking wet! Made it all the way around and back to car - at which point my legs just told me to “jog on” but not in a good way! Lol.

4.9km in 35 mins - I must admit it would have been great to last another 0.1 of a km but it wasn’t to be.... lungs were ok, but legs and head just said “be sensible, there’s always tomorrow” (or some point in November when it’s below 20 degrees!!)

I’ll do same route in reverse on Monday evening....

Happy running people - c’mon Engggggeeerrrlaaaaannnddd! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️⚽️⚽️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Hello there...nice to put a face to a name! I missed the morning slot this morning doing some DIY before the footy. Can't decide if I'm mad enough to go out later or not. Might actually try the treadmill and see how it goes. Well done in this heat. It's bad when we can't even carry on for 100m 🤒🤒🤒🤪🤪

Well done running in the heat! (Not sure about your app, but if it’s any consolation, my Runkeeper one seems to give me about 0.1k down for a Parkrun - so maybe you really did 5k after all!) 😊🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️❤️

Wuss. Only 100m more? Call yourself a runner?

:-)

Bonkers to be out there in that warm stuff. I was out at 6 and it was pretty repellant even then. There's always another day. Do a few more 5Ks so you're comfortable and then start mixing things up. More fun that way :-)

Honestly mate, that did not even compute.... all my boiling brain was thinking was “there’s the car, enough is enough”..... I had to walk for 5 minutes at the end as well, but I’d already stopped Strava by that point!

Wise man, Mitch. I'd have given before that I reckon.

No sign of this ending either. I feel really sorry for all the poor newbies finding their feet. Enough to contend with even without this humidity.. xx

Yes was good, but I still have a way to go to get to 5k, going to run 33mins on next run and try and work from there xx
