Post-Grad Run 1 - Parkrun and a new PB!

This morning I got up and out of bed for my first run as an official C25K graduate, my local park run. For those of you who have followed me for a while you'll know I did my first one in week 8, and this one felt SO different. It was lovely to run without pressure of having to strictly stick to 30 mins of solid running if i didn't want to!

Turns out, I did, and more! I didn't have any breaks at all and FINALLY BROKE THE 35 MIN BARRIER finishing in....34:59 (lol).

I even had some energy left to sprint the last 0.3k.

What really got me emotional was the walk back, as it was down the roads where I first start C25K outside. I was walking down a long stretch where literally a few weeks ago I was struggling along with the interval runs of W4, 5 and 6 and gasping for breath in the walking breaks. To think that now I feel like I could have run for longer is such an amazing feeling and actually made me quite emotional!

Stick with it everyone! I can’t praise this programme enough! Here I am red, soaking from the rain but over the moon!

That’s a great time for a park run, and I bet you enjoyed it more not worrying about that 30min target? Well done 👍

Well done 👍🏻. Testament that the programme really works 😎

I did my first post-graduation run this morning in my new sneakers (5.1k in 32 mins 😮).

Have signed up for ParkRun and will do my first one next week 😬
