Week 6 run 2....

So.. fearful of looking stupid I’ve got to week 6 on a treadmill and did w6r1 down the lanes. Bit freaked by w6 r2 but think it’s likely to be treadmill as will be dark by time I’m home tomo. Has anyone else done treadmill to get fit prior to a 5k in Belgium (signed up by colleagues.. 😖). I’ve got 2 weeks after w9 and was planning to do outdoor runs then. Good plan??

I've read on here anyone running on the treadmill should set the incline to 1.5 or 2 it makes the transition to outside running a bit better . Good luck 😊

Thanks Buddy...I have it on 4% every time so hopefully should be okay. Run on the lanes was tough but it was a warm warm day and my phone turned the app off halfway through one of my runs.... aaagghh!!

How was that run on the lanes? If that felt pretty normal then there’s nothing at all to worry about... if it felt a little strange then some practice is going to be good. You have a couple of weeks after graduation to get used to the differences and that should be enough... it’s mainly maintaining the pace (especially early in the run) and dealing with inclines (which you can simulate on the treadmill)

You’re doing great... enjoy closing the plan out and then getting ready for that 5k.

Thanks so much for the encouragement. Much appreciated!! The weeks are rolling by pretty fast

The beauty of running outdoors apart from fresh air, scenery etc is that you get a natural rhythm rather than what you set treadmill to. It will be interesting to see how you compare on both options and let us all know

Thanks will do. I always run on an incline so fingers crossed for the public eye affair!

Dont worry about anyone looking - think what you are doing - fantastic. How many of your friends/family/colleagues have achieved what you are doing?
