Running is like going to a punk gig... You wear a hoodie because it’s getting cold outside, but then you have to take it off as soon as you are ‘dancing’ down the front... 😂 Had to change my route because the halfway bell got further away, so did a loop rather than turn back and still had to back track on the cool down walk! 3.8k for the whole session. Quite pleased with myself, it’s getting easier... Any apps to help plan a better route?

I use an app called footpath for a rough idea of the route and run length. Sometimes I can even remember the run too 🤣. Out and backs locally to me are easy to expand as we have lots of trails... but other times I just run 1k and 1 mile laps that I’ve found... on a timed run I don’t know exactly where on the lap I’ll finish the run, but it’s never far from where I started.
I also parkrun, and there’s a map and description of each parkrun on the website. I love to run these as I know they’re 5k, most have laps so I can go short (or long) when I need to, and also they’re great practice for when I run them on a Saturday morning.
Great job on the run. Enjoy run 2.
Ah cheers! Will check out that app. Fancy a new route too, part of it is a school run, away from traffic but now I can’t do it until after 9pm. There is a park run in Beeston 2 miles from me every Saturday, known to be a very flat route (I am used to slopes!) I plan to join them in a month or so. There is also a charity 5k run 3 Oct there I will try, even if part walking...
