This seemed harder than run 3 of week 5. Maybe because while I went early in the morning, my early isn’t really very early and things were hotting up. I was also worried about dehydration so drank a pint of water before going out, then could hear it sloshing around in my belly for the first half of the run.
Still, I did it. Looking forward to this week but worried about getting bored in weeks 7 to 9, so think I might take a different tack and work out a 5k route that I can do, walking to the end once my run is done. Then hopefully I will be able to see improvements in distance as it builds up. I currently cover 4.5km.
Also I’ve discovered a friend is doing park runs so will try and coincide with that and say hello at the beginning and end of the park run, coz I’ll be well slower than my friend.

Yep W6R1 seems like a weird shift in tempo but I guess it stops us from burning out early. Sounds like you have a good plan to mix it up in W7-9. Good luck, keep going 👍🏼
Don’t drink that much before the run, that water ended up in your stomach not in your system, where you need it. Drink as much as possible the day before, 2, 3, 4 litres, more if you can. That’s hydration. On the day, before a morning run, a glass will suffice. If you need a sip or two during the run bring a bottle with you. Your body stored the rest from the day before.
