I think I need to go back and do week 6 I can not complete these 25 min runs at all. I’m doing 15 mins then stopping then going again. Today was to hot tho & I forgot my water 😩 really struggled. Sat in my car ready to cry now 🙈🙈.

I am not surprised that you had trouble running in the heat........it is much cooler early morning.

There is nothing wrong with going back, but you don't actually say why you stopped, so it sounds like it may be largely psychological, in which case you need to face the challenge.......the 25 minute runs are what you need to beat not some earlier, easier runs.

Have you read this post about mental approach? healthunlocked.com/couchto5... it may help.

If you were exhausted when you stopped, then just slow down next time. Be kind to yourself. That slow pace is what builds stamina.

You can do this.

I really do think it’s psychological more than anything, my mind keeps telling me I want to stop then I give in. I’ll definitely read that post! Thank you. I can manage about 15 mins run then I stop, start again then stop start again. That kind of pattern.

You can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to Emm29, no need to cry, wait a little longer until this heatwave is over, once the weather cools down, drink plenty of water the day before you run and also a little the day you do run.

Go back to run 1 of week 6 on your C25K app, that way you can repeat the 4/25 minute runs a little slower than you have been running them recently, I am sure if you do the runs in cooler weather you will complete all of those 25 minute runs without stopping. 😊 🏃

No need to cry. Just think back to week1 and how far your have come. I dont know about you but for me it was hard. Now im only on week 4 but i can feel my body getting stronger as the days go by. But without good fluid intake the day before i probably would have keeled over by now. Keep at it!!

I’d agree with all that’s been said about being hydrated. Find a flat course, run as slow as you can, get some of your favourite music in your ears and once you’ve done it once, you’ll have it beat.

Hi there,

I like running first thing in the morning, don't worry about repeating weeks I did it so it took me from April 2018 to July 2018 to complete the app. If I felt I didn't run to good I ran it again until I was satisfied with myself. Don't be to hard on yourself. We do that when we are running. I can tell you I've only completed the app in 30mins once. I've never done it again. But I say to myself hey I'm out there and I'm doing it. You will always get your good runs and your bad one's. So try it again and hold your head up high. X let me know how you get on. X

Don't worry. I had a struggle with this week also. Have 2 rest days and try again . Go really slow make sure you're drinking plenty water 7 days a week. Don't think of it as a 25 minute non stop run , think of it as only 25 minutes out your whole day. It may sound silly but it worked for me . You can do this 😊😊

Definitely sounds psychological, maybe hormones too?

You're worried about your IT band too. Just relax, don't put so much pressure on yourself. You really can do this. It's just one step at a time.

Put this behind you as a blip, it doesn't mean anything more than that. 👍🏻

Sounds like you’ve lost your self belief! I think the heat is so hard, early mornings are much easier. I truly believe you can do this, stay hydrated every day, run out of the heat, slow and steady. The programme readies you for the stage you’re at 👍🏻👏🏻

It’s not only hot out there, it’s too hot. Cooler weather is due in time for your next run so that will help. You can do it.
