I did it week 9 is done: things I’ve learnt

I began Couch 2 5k on May 28th

This morning I completed my last run of Couch 2 5k.

Things I’ve learnt during my Couch 2 5k adventures:

Don’t keep your running a secret, I post before and after photos to my fb after each run, I’ve discovered secret runners within my friends and I’ve found a group of people who encourage and support me

Be organised and disciplined - my life can get very hectic so I put my my runs into my diary, I plan my week around them it means they don’t get moved in favour of something else

People who see me as I’m running don’t think I’m an elephant wearing Lycra, in all honesty I’m not sure they even notice me

Things said to us as children have huge impacts - children and teachers alike were very vocal about how I couldn’t be athletic because I was academic. I’m 32 now, that’s a lot of years I’ve missed embracing my ‘athletic side’

Well done and many congratulations. Keep running and try a 5K parkrun some day soon. You’ll love it.
