Sore Legs

If my boyfriend gave me a massage on my legs, would the aching go away?

It’s my first week, second run.. I got to say that after my run on Wednesday, my legs haven’t stopped feeling stiff and achey. It didn’t stop me from having my scheduled run today but I am dreading the stiff feeling tomorrow. Do massages help or will it eventually stop as I do more running?

Yes, and yes ! Stretches help too - try the NHS Strength and Flex podcasts to start you off. Happy running 😀

Do some gentle stretching after your run. That really helps. And yes it will definitely get easier! Good luck and well done on what you have done so far!

If he's a good massager it might help you forget your aches and pains 😉

Joking aside, I would think it would help, but I'm not an expert, but yes, it does get easier as you progress

Foam rollers are cheap and effective too. Also make sure you’re drinking loads of water the day before running as that can massively impact tired and achey legs. Oh and ibuprofen helps 🤣

Foam rollers are sadists.
