First Fail 😢 W8 R2

So after having managed ever run so far with no issue last night was my first fail 😢😢😢

Despite leaving running till 7 when I thought it would be cooler I am just useless with heat (red hair, pale as anything 😂) I managed 15 minutes, started to feel a bit peaky and my calves were ridiculously painful. I also went too fast for the first KM I’m sure. Probably didn’t help I’d had a few wines the night before, had run out of my pre run glugs of lucozade and wasn’t wearing a hat.

I’m trying not to be too down about it as I know there were lots of contributing factors.

I’m headed out in a minute and hoping it’s cooler (and wearing a hat 😂)

Anyone also struggle with this one? I feel so gutted after having managed 28 minutes once already!

Bless you WRFW but no run is not a run (no f... words please). Not all run are equal. As you’ve said, lots of contributing factors ( for me, the sun, or should that be heat is always a struggle). I bet you smash the next run as it’s much cooler this morning. Keep the faith, you’ve nearly completed this part of your journey 👍🏻 Good luck on your progression

No one fails, they have practice runs!

Do drink lots of water the day before you run and after running - it makes all the difference, especially in summer

Sometimes runs don't go to plan , don't worry it happens. Up your water intake 7 days a week even more when it's warm. Have a rest day and try again 😊

Think you’ve answered your own question there Will - all those things that weren’t normal for you resulting in a shortened run. But fail? No such thing here and you did run for 15 minutes - which at one time would you have managed? So dig the hat out, slather on the sun cream, put the last run back in its box and run on!

Hydration is everything..especially this weather ...please read the post on hydration...

Then relax...let the legs find their happy pace..start slow stay slow...and wear a hat too..

Bless all you lovely fellow C25K members! As always your motivation and encouragement is just the tonic! And I managed the run yesterday morning with sun cream and hat! Ready to take on the final run tomorrow of the week to head to week 9 feeling jubilant and emotional that I’m nearly there! 😊
