sure it won’t be my last, but had a bit of a mare on my week 6 run 2 today.
Got through the first 10 minutes with no trouble whatsoever, but then halfway through the second 10 I started to feel sick and lightheaded, tried to battle through but ended up walking the last 2 minutes or so.
Thought I’d hydrated well yesterday and this morning, ate my normal pre-run banana, nothing out of the ordinary, and felt good until that point.
Going to chalk it down to experience and repeat on Saturday.

No, f, words here.... this was just a blip. It happens!
There could be any number of reasons for it...weather, a sickness bug... anything. A heathy eating regime and great hydration, every day help but still sometimes, it goes pear shaped!
Rest up tomorrow and head out again Saturday... slow and steady! Youve got this
If you put on your running gear, and ran, then it isn't a fail. Every run counts. Every run is better than no run. The most important thing is to enjoy your run. Always begin the first 5 minutes more slowly than you want to. If it feels uncomfortable, then you are running too quickly. If you run regularly, then speed will improve without you noticing. When you run, do not think about how fast you are going, think about the effort you are putting in, that effort should be such that you feel at ease, and comfortable.
My legs are directly linked to my stomach and I can feel sick and light headed if I push myself too fast or too far. It’s my ‘back off a bit’ warning 🤢 and I slow to a walk just like you did. Perhaps you were running a bit too fast or going up a hill? As I’ve gained fitness it rarely happens now so I’m hoping that’s the same for you. I have to leave at least an hour between running and that pre run banana though. You’ll find your quirks and sort them as you go. Just listen to your body. Good luck on your running journey.
Hey don’t worry the main thing is you got up and got out there and tried. Defo start slow slower than you would normally want to run that’s what I do it helps until I get a good rhythm going I mentally say to myself whilst running it’s distance not speed I want to achieve. Personally I don’t eat before a run this works for me but everyone is different so do what’s right for you. Also I find weather conditions make it harder for me like the wind always harder to run against the wind I suppose I could turn round so it’s behind but that puts me off 😂 so I push through and think about what I’m gunna have for breakfast when I finish my run, this helps me 😂 porridge if I stop and walk but 6 protein pancakes with maple syrup, yogurt and berries if I do it 😂 good luck with Saturdays run you’ve got this. 🙌🏼
I went out this morning for a planned 30 minute run, set my alarm for 7am so i could go out at 8am to avoid the bloomin school time as its a mare trying to run through all that traffic and crowds and not avoiding it as its my only route to start my run, but didn't get up till 7.30, got dressed in my running gear, opened up the tortoise shed and put down some food, had a quick half cup of coffee (i know i said i wouldn't but needed it) after much flapping about i didn't get out of the door until 9am (which is when i am supposed to start work, i WFH so at least no travel) and because of that i only managed 24 minutes because i was worried about being too long to log into work and needed to feed the dogs their breakfast, so that was on my mind and so cut it short, i know its not a fail as every run is a run, but i did feel like i had failed my planned time out....so i need to plan properly so i can get up and go out early enough to avoid the bloomin school time! So i now how you feel 😀
never a fail, a little blip maybe, these things are sent to test us, and you did the right thing by altering your plan, so you passed the test, just try and control your pace is the only advice I could give. Good luck.
