Madness strikes again W7R3

This week I am on nights. I have just finished night number 2 of 4, so I decided to do my second run of the week this morning. Boy, did I suffer.

I had changed my route as I like a bit change. The route takes me by the side of a busy route so it has traffic as we are now hitting the rush hour.

I did my second run of 25 minutes and this time my distance was 3.5K. I managed a kilometre more on Monday. I had taken my inhaler prior to running as I am asthmatic and wanting to keep my airways clear. This run my breathing felt heavy and I wonder if this due to the pollution coming from the cars. My usual route is on quieter roads with less traffic.

I think I will do my next run either Friday or Saturday away from busy main roads. Plus I come off nights Friday morning. Well that’s my run for today; time for breakfast and bed.

Have a good day and happy running 🏃‍♀️

Lots of things can affect your running as you say possible pollution affecting your breathing, just go back to your quieter route. Good luck 😊

Great job getting it done. On the odd day when I run down pavements I really struggle with the fumes from cars, the air is so heavy and I end up running noticeably slower. As I live in a place with constant traffic, I’m pretty much always to be found running in the parks.

well done for getting it done

the heat has caused a rise in pollution as well, I suffered badly yesterday even running in my basement

despite your problems you did your run, so well done

rest up and enjoy your sleep

Definitely go somewhere with cleaner air. Have you got canal towpaths nearby?

When I have my days off I am going to go exploring and find somewhere where the air is cleaner. I guess running after a night shift doesn’t work for me perhaps.

Or perhaps rush hour running was the problem...

Probably. And I ran next to a busy road.
