Running 25 minutes is getting less daunting. I think it's just the start of it which is the hard part. Once I'm into it, it's really not that bad. I must keep reminding myself of this! There is this moment about two thirds of the way in where I almost forget that I'm running. Strange, but it's true!
I avoid traffic lights where possible when I run. My neighbourhood is sandwiched in between a bunch of main roads and I make sure to only cross roads in quiet streets and avoid the lights. However, I managed to time running across a green set of lights perfectly this morning. I had every intention of turning right at the lights, but just as I approached, the lights went green. It's something small but it was a tiny victory, haha.
Currently waiting for my tram to work. Monday morning is still not the best part of the week, but being energised from a run does help!
Happy running π

Well done! I chose the wrong route to make it easy on myself for w7r1, bloomin massive hill on the way back up! I think I will go the other way round next time!
Keep it up. I too avoid traffic lights as it impacts my momentum so if they are on green I simply double-back on myself.
I'm not running 5k as frequently as I was but have not stopped since I graduated 2 years in January and this is the distance I now always run. My aim is to return to weekly running or set myself a new target to focus on such as 10k.
Well done I am just back from my half hour run around my neighbourhood in Spain!! I always find the first 5-10 minutes the worst both mentally and physically and after that you get into the stride and off you go!! It is the best start to the new week, enjoy!!
Just also completed my w7d1 25 min run and also felt a bit distracted whilst running that I forgot I was running. I always find the last five mins harder on my legs though, was definitely counting down! Hoping this will get easier as I get fitter Becuase I have to keep reminding myself how I used to find five mins hard, then 8 mins etc!
It's really important to remember just how far you've come! In just a few short weeks you've gone from finding a 5 minute run to being able to run five times that much which is pretty incredible π
I'm finding the 25 minute runs become easier as I get fitter and stronger. I hope you do, too!
