Lots of walking yesterday & my legs & torso felt it this morning. Gentle stretches to warm my body & eased into the 5min walk. Once I started running my mind drifted off & guess I daydreamed. Surprised ๐ฏ when Laura announced 12.5mins as didnโt think Iโd run that long. Focused on running technique for remaining time and more gentle stretching. Feeling great ๐ Week 8 starts Friday ๐๐

Are you doing dynamic stretches pre run?
There is a suggested link between doing pre run static stretching and injury.
Keep the static stretches for immediately post run, when still warm and supple. They will pull out contractions and improve blood flow to aid recovery and avoid carrying tensions into the next run.
Static stretches should be pulling hard enough to be on the verge of uncomfortable.........so not necessarily gentle stretching, which will not be as effective.
