Who'd have thought it - a whole year!

One year ago today, I ran my first ever parkrun as my c25k graduation run. I had never run before at 60 years old, and had wondered if I had left it too late to start. But I started anyway, and by week 3 I was enjoying it too!

I've kept running since then, although I've had to stop a few times because of random illness and injury (not caused by running - I tripped over a chair πŸ˜…)

The support from this forum was outstanding for me then, and nowadays I mostly hang out on the bridge to 10 forum, where people are just as lovely. They've been seeing me through my latest tribulations. I've just started running after another bout of illness, so I was able to run on my anniversary, although it will be a few more weeks before I attempt a parkrun.

I'm so amazed that I've managed to do this, it was literally couch to 5k for me, so if you're just starting this amazing journey, or thinking about it and wondering if it's for you, please please try it, give it a go, it has the power to change your life.

Dunno how I missed this yesterday... wow, you graduated the same day I was hating run 1! Huge congratulations on a whole year of post grad running, and giving support to so many too. Here’s to the next year.
