Who'd have thought Mungo Jerry was a pace setter?

So, not been feeling that great over the last couple of days so a bit dubious about my run today - W6R3 - especially as I had a peek at what I was going to have to do. Decided I'd need to go for it as I've a busy week on and I'd just need to bite the bullet as well as a couple of paracetomol. I usually run first thing too but couldn't do that either so completely out of my comfort zone. After the first 5 minutes running I really thought I was going to end up baling as I found it difficult but then Mungo Jerry (yes, I am that old!) came on and helped me with my pace. Once I got that pace I just repeated 1,2,3,4, in my head - it was a major help if my music was playing at that pace too but hey ho if it wasn't it's no longer on my running playlist! I recently read on a running web site an article about whether people should listen to music when they run as they could become dependant on it - who cares - if it gets me through it - which is exactly what it did! I completed week 6. Feeling good about that. Question - after watching the European running last night I wonder what do people eat to make themselves so lean and fit and full of enough energy to run?

Oh, well done you! My turn tomorrow, I have to have music, otherwise the time goes too slow 😁🎶

Well done! Those people on the telly are so thin I don’t think they eat anything 😂 I don't think you become dependent on music. I've used my headphones all the way through C25K, but I did parkrun on Saturday without them and it was no problem at all. Keep going!

Had to laugh - I’m that old too! I’m guessing they’re just made that way That’s my excuse for not aiming for that look!! Well done though as W6R3 can be a deal breaker. Downhill from now on 😊

I wish it was LITERALLY downhill all the way!

Do you listen to ‘oldie but goodies’ too? If so, which ones?

I tend to do podcasts - favorite one is No Such Thing as a Fish (lots of QI trivia). I tried Vangelis but there were too many pauses where I though oh great, Sarah is about to tell me I can walk! Also lots of bells ringing so I would step to the side for an invisible bike!!😂

😂 the Bell also signals halfway! Not good when it isn’t!

Well done I finished week 6 a few days ago. I was on holiday in france and it was hilly ! Where I live it is almost totally flat so I was used to running on that, I found a route that had the least inclines but it was so hard first time I have almost given up...pretty sure I could have crawled the last minute faster 🤣

I’m the complete opposite. A lot of gradient where I live but mostly flat in France but then you have the heat to contend with! It’s either one thing or the other! I’ve just bought new trainers so I’m hoping they’re fuel jnjected.
