I'm curious on this one, and there is no right or wrong answer here by the way, do you count the warm up/down as part of the distance covered?

I just count the distance I run... :) But as distance is not an issue on the C25K programme anyway :) 🏃‍♂️🤣

I agree, I don't normally count the warm up/down, I have in the past but on the longer runs I tend to only do the running part.

Like I said, there isn't a right or wrong, I know people have done Park Runs using a week 9 podcast and included the warm up/down in that.

I’m strange... I log both separately. If my run is tough, maybe my walking warmup wasn’t as quick as it should be. So I used to use two apps, now I log a walk on the Garmin and then the run.

I just count the running part, although I do sometimes forget to stop mapmyrun when I am on my cool down walk and that messes up my stats!

No. I never count the warmup or cool down.

I counted it on the c25k just because it was showing on the treadmill lol and I couldn't be bothered to subtract.

Now I'm doing the bridge to 10k I reset the treadmill after the warmup

So far yes I have done. But my last one (W8R2) I set my Garmin from when I started running and stopped it when I started walking again. Once I graduate I'm planning on setting it for the runs only, so I can see how far I'm actually going.

I was including warm up / cool down to start with, but once it got to just running and no more intervals, I’ve just been timing the running.

Hi, I don’t count the warm up/down. You can set MapmyRun to kick in after certain times and mine starts after five minutes. At the end I carry on running until I’ve faffed about enough to remove my phone from the armband and then I stop running when I’ve stopped MapmyRun. Think I may have become a little obsessed 😂

I have always included the warmup because I didn't want to have something else to do when I had to start my run. I didn't know it was possible to program mapmyrun to start in X minutes, I'm definitely going to try that!

Yes it’s in the settings somewhere about delaying the start. Has proved useful! X

I count it all. It is an achievement for me to just be out walking/running lol!

No

I do but only with the first warm up and it’s only because I can’t be bothered to sort my MapMyRun out on my phone again before I start to run. As soon as I’m done I whip my phone out to see my distance and still class it all as the distance I’ve ran though 😂

Now I’ve learnt MapMyRun can do the timed start, I will have a look at doing that!

Used to count it all, until I hit 5k+ in week 7 run 3. Started only logging runs from w8r1, just to see how close I was to actually running 5k. Starting W9 tomorrow morning!
