Week 6 and really creaky

I am really chuffed to have got to this point, especially after the 20min run last week. However, every time I start running I feel really creaky and in need of wd40- even at the beginning. When will I start to feel a bit more natural?

I’m having a creaky week 6 too!

Felt delight at getting through week 5 but this week is a struggle and I’ve got 25 minutes to do next time!!!

First ten minutes of every run feels yuk 😐

I don't know why it always feels so hard when I start. If I can do 20 minutes and survive why do I feel like I have the joints of a 90 year old when I start a fresh run?

Are you stretch after every run and hydrating as described in the guide to the plan? healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Do you know about the "toxic ten" which affects all runners to s greater or lesser degree? healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Have you thought about extending the warm up walk? A couple of extra minutes there may help the creaking :)

I always have a toxic ten (or more) minutes. Today I had more time so I doubled my brisk walk and boogied away in my garage to 2 songs before starting my run. It flowed much better.

Will try a longer warm up and more stretches before next run on Wednesday. No I don't know about the toxic ten. Off to Google it.

Thanks!

Maybe extend your warm up walk and move more briskly. Drink lots of water daily and we all get the “toxic ten” so don’t worry it will get better in time.
