I am on W2R2, which was supposed to be Thursday night but i felt ill so bed early and night off, Saturday morning now and for some reason I'm telling myself im going to have a crap run and that I've knocked myself off track, won't be able to manage C25K, all that stupid internal negative swlf talk. I came on here to read other peoples posts and the replies for inspiration, i felt great after the first 4 runs and found them easy, but did anybody else feel like this when their schedule got mucked up? Thanks

Hi Beansy,

You are doing great! Try and remind yourself why you started in the first place and how you have felt after completing the runs up until this point. Everyone has not so good runs or ones where the old legs felt like lead. I found having a couple of days off (even though i wanted to plough on just to get through the program) really made a difference. Drink so much water on those rest days that you cause a drought! Sort out a play list you will enjoy or a podcast, anything that will help distract you from running! Go into the run thinking about how good you will feel afterwards. Yes, each new run feels a bit tougher but your fitness and stamina are improving every time you run and in a few weeks I promise you, you will look back at how far you have come and think wow, I never though I could run for this long!

Go for it and let us know how you go. You can do this! 💪👏🏅

Hiya I've just done Wk6 r2 this morning. Had a couple of extra days off on the way here but I'm a stubborn sort so I just tell myself to get on with it! Think of all the benefits and why you started this. Also remember this program works and you can do it and you'll be so proud of yourself!

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and I recommend you follow the link to the post about mental approach healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Life is not straight forward, things happen, but C25K is totally flexible and it works, so stick with it and you will reap the rewards.

Enjoy your journey.

I suspect we all had our ups and downs on this programme. I know I definitely did, but I got there in the end. Sadly, if you read my post from earlier this morning, even once we graduate, we can still make a royal foul-up of thing. It's just a matter of dusting yourself off and going for it again.

Just remember that a "week" in the #C25K universe isn't 7 days, it's just simply as long as it takes to successfully complete each batch of three runs. If you do it in 6 days, day on, day off, that's fantastic. If, like me, one particular "week" takes 8 months to complete because of illness and injury, so be it.

Just do whatever you can do, whenever you can do it, and be prepared to surprise yourself as you progress.

Some runs are like that.. it is really early days. Take each one..slow and steady and try to relax if things go off plan..it takes a lot to mess things up...

You're going to be fine.

Yes, I felt like that sometimes but then I reminded myself that this is supposed to be FUN! 🥳 With the best will in the world, life gets in the way sometimes. Don't beat yourself up. If you're not feeling well it's probably best to have a rest day. Rest, eat well, drink plenty and when your next run comes around you'll be prepared and looking forward to it. Good luck!
