Hi guys! I have just completed Red (run everyday in January) and have raised a massive £185! But I can’t run distance. I have been doing 1.1 miles every night but I can run it all so thought I would give C25K a go but I’m worried. I don’t see how I will ever run 5k after only completing the first week!!!! Tell me it gets easier??? ✅

So did I and now I regularly run 10K’s 😊

Some days fell harder than others and you can always repeat them if you feel the need.

You definitely will fit in here so :)

Don't lose heart - this programme works :)

Wishing you many (continuous) miles in your future :)

Thank you! I just wish I could get my breathing right! Hoping that will come the more I get into it!

I just inhale and exhale - I quit worrying about any formulas and such like a long time ago. And as for that "You should be able to have a conversation while running"...even at my slowest that's only ever going to consist of a rapid and non-repeatable "Keep your darn dog from jumping at me please!"

I still breath like it's gonna be my last - but my body has learned to cope with ever increasing activity while using the same limited amount of oxygen :)

If you can already run a mile you will do just great. I started last summer after being dragged to a Parkrun with my sister. I struggled so much and could barely walk after for 3 days!! So I thought right c25k...I had always been vaguely sceptical as didn't like the idea of short runs and walks....but I stuck to it religiously accompanied by my coach Michael Johnson. It really is amazing. I remember panicking about the 20 minute run but by the time you get to that stage in the programme you can do it...and the feeling of euphoria is amazing. And staye on this forum...I found it invaluable. So supportive and encouraging. I am sure you will love your running journey.

Thanks! I really want to finish this! I can’t quite run all the mile yet which is why I thought C25k would suit me! I struggle with breathing and I think I need to have a more positive mindset! I can do this! I didn’t think I could run for 31 consecutive days but it’s my last run tonight!!!!

I love some of the mantras that you will read on here ..."slow and steady" springs to mind...just keep it slow and you will do it. It really is an amazing programme. And you rest every other day so it's manageable fitting it on with everything else in life. Good luck with your running journey. I have days I struggle and don't want to do it but the feeling I have when I have run is incredible. I am also a Parkrun addict...something for you to look forward to as you bear the end of the programme. And keep reading, keep posting. X

Hi and welcome.

Don't worry about what you will be doing at the end of the programme, just concentrate on the next run. The guide to the plan explains it all healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

This plan works and will get you running for thirty minutes non stop, which may or may not be 5k. It will change your life.

Hi Scruffbag

i have used C25K 2 times first time i had not ran since school, i was very over weight and depressed, it was hard to begin with too, but after week four its all mental rather than physical so yes it does get easier much easier the human body is an amazing thing, you have done the hardest part by starting so well done you feel proud in what you have achieved and stick with it all long journeys start with a single step , oh the reason i have done it twice is i had a foot injury so i used it to get back into it. you go for it girl

regards
