Still at the coast, but not much running, following a twinge which turned into a pain!
But... the weather is good, the scenery spectacular and the runs will wait
The number of folk on the forum increases daily...( the numbers are truly frightening), and although it is tricky to keep up with everyone's progress... it is great to have a little fun post, so we can see who is on which week of the programme, and hopefully it will help everyone to feel more included on the forum.
I apologise if I miss posts or replies, as there really are a lot of us!
We can support, encourage and generally help each other, in a positive and friendly way, with no thought of comparison.
Please remember it doesn't matter if you stay on the same week for a while, that is fine; it is a journey and it really doesn't matter how long it takes, it will be so worth it when you get to the final run.
If you have just Graduated, also, this will be a great place to keep you motivated, and the new Quest on here too...this month it is called..Jaunty June!!!
One of the best things about this weekly chat is that you can talk to each other, support and encourage each other and find folk on the same week or run as you.
So, please do come and join the fun...slip off your running shoes and just let us know how it is going

Hi Oldfloss. It should be Week 9 for me, but I'm posting from the Invalid Couch. Hopefully I won't be on it for too long.... Trying to put my foot up occasionally, but a bit tricky with so much decorating to do! Must be lovely by the sea in this weather. Hope your twinge stops being a pain and turns into a little niggle ☺️
Hi, I am on W7R3. However, I must confess to taking part in my first Parkrun today. I ran the full 5K in 31 mins so I was super proud! Hope your injury improves soon and you are back out again soon!
Enjoy the coast - nothing quite like the sea. Speedy recovery Oldfloss. Completed W6R2 today, it felt good. I feel fitter and healthier than I have in a long time. Thanks for the lekker posts!
Hi yer Oldfloss! Just did week 3 run 1 yesterday afternoon and seemed OK. The old feet may be playing up a bit. ...slight pain in the forefoot just under the toes, will keep an eye on. Started to leave 2 days between runs, although that's mainly down to work. Few times almost stopped on the small hills when outside, can't wait to see what happens on the week 4 runs 😅😅😅😅😅😅.
Quite happy so far only hope I can keep the motivation up.......😊
Well done you... two days between runs is no issue really and as you say take note of any aches and pains... Hills... just slow down... short light steps.
Hi oldfloss - hope you recover soon - rest up and enjoy the scenery- I live by the coast it’s lovely views for running inspiration 😊
I’m on week 7 R1 done on Friday - feeling really motivated and proud - if not a tad tired during runs but so chuffed when I’ve done them 👊😊
Having 2 days rest as committed to a Monday run, but itching to get out there .......so never thought that would be me .... long may it continue 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️😍
Finishing W2 today. Early days but developing the habit. Knee issue (previous injury)means more rest days inbetween but encouraged by the Slow and Steady Mantra on this forum.
Morning Oldfloss! Week 9 for me. I've decided that graduating is less important than learning to run outside (I've been treadmilling this whole time) so I've decided to do the rest of the journey outside and not worry if that slows down my progress through the programme (which it will, I flopped out of W9R1 yesterday after about 27 minutes). I learned some lessons from it though and I'm actually really pleased with how it went for my first run outside. So next attempt on Wednesday. Sorry to hear about the twinge/pain!
Thanks you... outdoor running sounds perfect for you final week and it is so, so different.. Simply treat that as a dress rehearsal, and slow and steady as you head towards the podium
Hope you recover soon bless! Luv the “new shoes” - it’s a great feeling when you get something new x I agree with the keeping track and replying to everyone - as much as it would be great to be able to, it is nigh on impossible unfortunately but doesn’t stop me feeling bad for knowing I’ve missed loads ☹️ x
Hope the injury isn't stopping you enjoying your break Oldfloss.
w2 of consolidation here, going ok, week 1 was ropey, but I seem to have found a groove (let's hope it lasts). Allergies are kicking my butt, but I hope to venture outside in about a month and have July to prepare for my first park run n with my eldest and accompanying my youngest on his junior park run in August when we are back in the UK for holidays.
Also joined Strength and Flex, hoping to add that into my routine to help me on my quest towards 5K.
