March already... and for me... another week of training for my HM goes on...13.7K yesterday and a few more to get until I reach the target! My photograph shows part of my HM route... I cycled it today... rest day Loads of runners out there!
The numbers of folk on the forum increase daily.. and although it is tricky to keep up with everyone's progress... it is great to have a little fun post, so we can see who is on which week of the programme, and hopefully it will help everyone to feel more included on the forum.
We can support, encourage and generally help each other, in a positive and friendly way, with no thought of comparison.
Please remember it doesn't matter if you stay on the same week for a while, that is fine; it is a journey and it really doesn't matter how long it takes, it will be so worth it when you get to the final run.
If you have just graduated, also, this will be a great place to keep you motivated, and there is always the Quest on the Bridge to 10k forum also, for Graduates.
One of the best things about this weekly chat is that you can talk to each other, support and encourage each other and find folk on the same week or run as you.
So, come and join the fun.... Let us know how it is going

Loving my running, the ankle injury already seems forever ago. 100km to run this month now and started with 400m sprint intervals x8... that hurt... one of those fun after the event runs 😂
Feeling the inspiration from a lot of the guys starting out on C25K right now, and those breaking down the barriers between them and those 30 minute runs... if I did, they can, and if they can, so can I.
Yep... if I don’t reach 100 I’m quitting 😂. No idea how far that is on a map, but I can break it down in terms of parkrun and laps locally. Should be 6k left on the 28th... so nice 7k run to close it out with a little spare.
As I’m now at 4.2k my aim this week is 5K. I’ve only gone and signed up for a 10k in May I know I’ll be walking some but I want to be able to at least run over the finish line.
Happy Parkrun Eve, I’m doing some Parkrun tourism tomorrow. Going to a new course which is about 15-20 mins away from me. Closest Parkrun not yet done. Hoping to go sub 29 mins.
I'm on W9r3 and just about to do a run (and hopefully graduate) for the very first time on holiday.
In fact it's the run that's been my inspiration to complete C25K. My boss came here about 2 years ago (on my recommendation, my favourite hotel in my favourite place Hotel Meliá in Alicante) she's a multiple marathon runner aged 55+ and spoke of running along the wonderful promenade, pre breakfast! I was so jealous that I couldn't do that!
But today here I am finally running pre breakfast! I will complete 30 mins this morning, I know I can do it!
I've completed week 7 and waiting for my Achilles to right itself before tentatively getting back to doing some running. Undecided whether to try 10 minutes this morning to see how it goes or whether to wait a few more days. Don't want to make anything worse but I'm really not liking the IC at all! Moody does not begin to describe me at present. 🤔
I have just completed week 7 and am looking forward to week 8 runs. Slow (very) and steady for me, but I am doing it.
I have lost 13.2kg along the way, but still have lots more to lose. Running is helping with weight loss, energy and motivation, and also helping my dodgy knees and bad heel.
I've just done W6R1. Still hard to believe I managed to do W5R3 in one go but I will have to see how W7 goes. Overall I'm enjoying it and will be doing my first parkrun around the end of W8 as I'm about 2 weeks behind due to a bad cold and snow/ice. Looking forward to graduating and carrying on running 😄
Gosh, this weather affected so many of us... my HM is in three weeks and I am still playing catch up with training!! Very well done you..keep it slow and steady
Just graduated yesterday 😁. Going to do the 30 mins runs for about three more weeks and then try to increase to 5K. Will also join a park run once I have a few more runs under my belt.
My second park run this morning and my second 5k run of the week, I’m loving it, I’m also very slow.... however I find the park runs very friendly and encouraging, this morning I met a fellow C25K who was running 33 minute 5k at 75 what an inspiration. Good luck to all C25K participants it’s a wonderful thing
Fit it in when you can - you’ll do it. No better therapy than this exists for worrying times, and you’ll feel better able to help your mum if you’re feeling fit yourself. Hope she’s better very soon. And happy birthday when it comes x
So sorry to hear that. It will be challenging in many ways for you and your family - and even more essential that you take time to look after yourself to stay fit and strong for everyone. Always here for you x
Positively delighted that you get everywhere, Oldfloss 😄
I’ve been struggling a bit since graduation: between the Black Dog and the Panic Moth I’ve been feeling fairly lousy, and I find I’m far more conscious of Ethel in the warmer weather ! I’ve been making myself get out for short runs, so at least I’m not losing the habit, and I got bold and went for a run somewhere I’d never run before - always scary when you’re autistic !
I’ve been working through “Teach Yourself CBT” and am trying to get a grip on my thought patterns - I think that’ll be helpful long term. I also signed up for Strava’s distance and elevation challenges in February, so now I have a baseline: I’ve signed up for the March ones too, so I can build distance and climbing month on month. My Quest this month is to reach 4k in a single run. Plenty to keep me busy !
The shorter runs are a great plan and new routes too.. that is brilliant!!! Setting yourself some targets too, is a great way to keep motivation going... I am doing the same thing!
Penultimate 30 min run today and bracing myself for the final W9R3 on Tuesday!!! It's been a great journey and I'm currently thinking about 'what next' 🤔whilst also feeling very pleased with my achievement so far 😄
W9 🏃🏽♀️. Just done run 1 so 2 more to go to graduation which all being well will be at the weekend, and hopefully outside not on the blinking treadmill like today's run was because of horrendous weather. 🏃🏽♀️😊
Week 9 starts on Tuesday! R1 side of the Mersey in Liverpool, Thursday Bristol docks and hopefully Bakewell parkrun on Saturday to graduate in style! Already surprised myself by completing 5k (just) 3 times in week 8, so hoping for a sub 30min parkrun
