Anyone else hate the 1st half of the run/jog and struggle and then hear the halfway bell and suddenly it all seems easier? Or is it just me 😂

Ah - it's that turning around and running for home feeling! The first half of the run will soon become more fun, just wait and see. You are doing really well, keep going!

Here is my recall of almost all my runs after week 5. 5 minutes in - my breathing is too fast. I don't think I will be able to finish. 10 minutes in - those muscle aches have come back again - just like the last run. I think I need to slow down. Even think of walking just for a minute. 15 minutes in. I can do this - I just have to maintain a sustainable speed. Slow down. 20 minutes in - I know I will finish this now. Why was I lacking belief until 15 minutes? After a few months of that experience, I tend to start off really slowly and increase speed in the second half. My Strava results often bear that reality. I still can't run 5 km in less than nearly 40 minutes, but it used to take me nearly 50 minutes. Slow and sure wins the race.
