Week 3 done!

Never thought I’d get to week 4! I’m getting slower each week but I guess that doesn’t matter because I’m running more. Bit nervous of what is ahead as it seems such a big step up (sorry about the pun!). I’m trying to just relax into it and see what happens. But going to take a couple of days rest to keep working on strengthening knees.

But for now, time for a celebration!! 🤩

Well done.

Your attitude sounds pretty good...........relaxing nervously..............maybe lose the nervous bit. What is the worst that can happen?

You might find this about mental approach helpful healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

You can do this.

Well done on getting to where you are and dont worry about what’s ahead. The programme does a great job of preparing you well to be able to achieve each step up.

You’ll smash it I’m sure 😬

Happy running 🏃🏻‍♀️

Nothing to be nervous of, slow is good. This is all about building up strength and stamina, not speed. Also a good idea to take an extra rest day if your knees need it. I often do. Meanwhile just take it one run at a time. If you complete it ok, then you're ready for the next one. If not, repeat that run next time. You probably won't need to though 😊

You are all so supportive on this forum. Makes all the difference! Celebrating for now and it involves Lindt chocolate 😀

great job, agree with everyone else, one day at a time. I'm rerunning the programme following an two month layoff with a broken wrist. The programme will look after you if you listen to your body, two days rest is a very good idea to ensure you head out in the right frame of mind, enjoy.

Wow well done! We've just finished week 2 and taking a sneaky peek at week 3 - I am terrified of those 3 minute runs!

You’ll be fine. I just took it really slowly. My walking is faster than my running but I think that’s ok for now! Good luck and enjoy it

Well done you encourage me, just done week 3 run 2. Really didn’t feel up to it but carried on regardless. Like you very slow jogging. Got less distance round the field than I did on the last run but quite proud of the fact that I did it, even when I fancied leaving it till tomorrow. Well done you again :-)

Well done. I, too, am getting slower and slower but it’s not walking! I found the step ups hard and have to give myself some coaching before i attempt them but so far my tactics have worked. I’m now on w7r2 and have such a sense of achievement. Stick with it and go as slow as you like as long as you’re running.
