Just take all the runs slowly and trust the program.

Oh no, ftf, you cannot give up yet! When is your best time of day to go for a run? For me, it's morning, and I found that if I actually wrote it on my calendar, so I knew in advance what days I'd be running. Then, I'd get up and straight into my running gear before I had a chance to talk myself out of it. Drink of water then out of the door before I could change my mind. Once I've got the gear on, I never back out of going. Don't know why it works but it does every time. Breakfast when I get home again. Come on, you can do this!

I know it can seem hard, but once you’ve learned to run slowly you’ll be amazed at what you can do! First breakthrough for me was learning that my brisk walk could be faster than my run. And then in W6 I saw this

I absolutely love this style of running, maybe it could work for you.

Would you like to be more trim, lose that (really bad for us) tummy fat, get more toned, have loads more energy, turn off that negative critical voice, have a real boost to your mental wellbeing? If the answer is Yes! Then put that gear on, and get out there, and run - slowly! 💪🐌

*kick*

Get your kit on and get running. What were the reasons you started ? Are they still valid (if not I'm sure we can come up with more : p). What would be your reasons for stopping (I'm sure we can argue against them : ) ).

Come on, keep going, plan a reward for yourself if you do the next week...something...anything...

You can do it !

Consider yourself kicked! Come on, think how much more you will enjoy the summer if you are feeling fitter and healthier and possibly a little bit trimmer? Yes we all would love to get the results without the effort sometimes but sadly life doesn't work like that. And actually, at some point on this weird C25K trip, I stopped dreading the runs, then I started quite enjoying them and now I find myself (as a very recent graduate) actually looking forward to the next run - unthinkable just a few weeks ago! Maybe think about some concrete goals you'd like to achieve - for me it was just to have a go at C25K, then it was to finish the programme, now it's to run 5k. I'd also like to lose another stone before my summer holiday. It doesn't have to be huge things, just small steps that soon add up to a happier you.

Register for your local Parkrun. Print your Barcode and pop along to your local Parkrun this Saturday morning. Walk the 5K as a nice fast walking pace. Then that will motivate you to train during the week and go back to Parkrun the following weekend and beat your previous time.

Parkrun is my motivation.
