Re doing runs!

I have been doing C5K for 7 weeks however I struggled with run 2 on wk6 tried it twice and still failed so re-did the week from scratch. I’ve finally completed this but now I’ve got run 3...25mins in a single run. Very worried but want to know if this is normal to sometimes have to re do the week before moving on? Btw I also had to do the wk 6 20min run 2 times before I completed it without stopping!

We don't use the 'F' word here. You got out and you ran- that's a success in my book. Lots of people repeat runs, for various reasons, so don't worry. This is your progression from zero to hero; so do it your own way.

As the runs get longer you need to find the 'sustainable pace'; the one that enables you to complete. That may mean slowing down a little to ensure that you get to the end. You are doing really well btw :)

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and includes advice on pacing..........you are going too fast.

Enjoy your journey.

Absolutely fine to repeat a run. But listen to iannodatruffe, he knows all!

You do what you need to get through the runs if you feel you want to repeat a run that's ok good luck 😊😊

Thanks guys....I’ll look at my pace. Although I’m convinced if I go any slower I might as well be walking. 😁

It's a nine stage program. Lots of people take longer than 9 weeks. Much, much longer for me. Nothing wrong with repeating bits if you have to. Do remember though that all the running you do is training and is doing you good. Not just physically but mentally as well. You'll learn what makes it harder or easier. As IannodaTruffe said, slow down.

Footloose2, you are not alone. I am week 6 and i ran week 6, day 1 twice and week 6, day 2 twice too. I have slowed my pace and walk for 20 seconds to catch a breath if I need it and go again. Repeating a run is absolutely OK...i remember in week 1, i used to barely be able to run 1 min without going red in the face! we all have come sucu a long way. I agree with SlowLoris that this running is so good for us mentally. It really clears my head and makes me so happy....i do it first thing in the mornings when the weather is still so good outside!

keep going
