Over the trauma of school runs!

Woo hoo I’ve just completed run 3 of week 2. I’m finally over the trauma of school cross country running in the snow with a bully of a gym teacher. I really miss running on my rest days now. My mindset on run days is so positive. Looking forward to week 3. Hopefully I’ll be able to do it…

Well done, but you could lose the "hopefully" in the last sentence.

You can do this!

A lot of PE teachers did more harm than good in many cases, turning people off doing sport for life.

I think she meant well but she was an Olympic gold medalist in foils and we were young eleven year olds. She forgot to lower expectations for our age and lack of experience.

Of course you will be able to do it, we all can do it, just stick to the plan, why not try a half hour walk on rest days? or anything that isn’t high impact that you’ll enjoy Most of all enjoy your running adventure

Oh I remember cross country 🥲. It was just awful. But it’s brilliant to see how much you’re enjoying this! Well done on your run and best of luck with the next 😀.

Well done! 1 run behind you! I remember those x country runs in all weathers with shorts and red raw legs from the cold! 🥶🥶

I never understood the shorts! We had to wear bottle green athletics pants. Can still vividly remember how my thighs would sting and turn a fetching shade of purple. It's hardly surprising that it took me until I was 46 to attempt running again and I was astonished to find I actually enjoy it when allowed to wear leggings!
