Week 4 Run 1

So, I’ve just managed the first of week 4 and am gob-smacked I actually ran for 5 minutes. TWICE! That last one was hard, though, and definitely was the biggest struggle I’ve had so far. If Michael Johnston hadn’t popped up to tell me there was only 1 minute left, I’d have stopped for sure.

Do I feel good about the run yet? I don’t know, but perhaps after a shower and a cool down I’ll appreciate it.

It’s very hot here tonight and I definitely prefer the early morning outings, but you have to fit in the run when you get the chance!

Thanks for the positive thoughts. I don’t feel too bad today, slightly weary legs but nothing I can’t cope with, so am not dreading run 2 as much now. I might think differently tomorrow morning!! 😉

Well Done NewRunner. Five minute runs seemed impossible just a short while ago didn’t they? Now look at you. Keep it up and enjoy your running.

Thanks very much, you’re absolutely right. I’ve since done the second run of the week and those 5 min runs seemed a lot easier. I’m pretty positive run 3 will be fine and I’ll think about week 5 as it comes! I’m amazed I’m actually enjoying this.

Continue to be amazed as you and your body adjust to your new plan.

You are enjoying 5 minutes? So 5/1 should not be a problem. You were surprised to find you could do that. You are so good now, that a couple more minutes will be well within reach. Keep enjoying your running.
