Ok, after my high from the 20 minute run on Thursday I moved onto W6 R1 on Saturday. I had been pre warned on here that it can catch you out but naively thought that going back to an interval run after the 20 minute one would be straightforward. How wrong was I! Don’t get me wrong, I did do it but it felt so much harder! Now how does that work?! Never mind, onwards and upwards and onto W6 R2 tomorrow with a positive frame of mind 🙏 happy running everyone!
W6 R1 On first impressions...: Ok, after my high... - Couch to 5K
W6 R1 On first impressions...
I found exactly the same thing. However I've just completed week 6 run 3 (25 mins solid) and that was easier. Go figure! But something for you to look forward too. X
It was exactly the same for me. I felt quite negative about the whole thing after W6R1 & R2, to be replaced with jubilant euphoria after a fantastic R3. It's just the last of those intervals are tough, I found starting running again after a walk period really hard, compared to just running straight through. Stick it out, you're nearly onto the solid runs!
I think it’s so we’re really pleased the intervals are over from W6R3 onwards! And then we’re just running. Clever little c25k!
What everyone else has said. I was well prepared for w6r1 from being on this forum and went in to it with a positive frame of mind. W6r3 became my favourite run so far, I'm sure you will feel the same. W7r3 for me today, like hotpinkdaisy I was born the year England won the world cup and although a good athlete up until my 20s I was never a distance runner, then I discovered Indian food and financial freedom and my athletic prowess took a steep decline, but I have an 8yo who is a very good 2k runner and he has inspired me to get fit.
Sooo weird isn’t it ! Good luck for next one....please say it was easy peasy!!! 😆
That's why you should listen to advices from experienced people so that you do not commit all the same mistakes again. Make new mistakes. 😆
Good that you didnt give up and completed the run. Also, once you graduate, you should probably keep an interval run for surprising your body every now and then.
All the best for R2.
