So disappointed. After last week I ran for 20 mins on r3w5 . I ran slowly , it was so tough but I did it. So proud of myself never run that long in my life. I struggle with the breathing. Trying hard not to pant. Thought today was going to be easier as it was back to three runs. How wrong was I . I did it but I hated every moment of it. If hubby was not running besides me I’m sure I would have gone home. Now already dreading r2 . I struggle with the breathing. And today felt like I undone all the progress I had made.

Well done on finishing it. Sounds like you may b going too fast. I walk faster than I can run but it keeps my breathing right. I've just done wk6 run3 n this was much easier than runs 2 n 3 defo still the mental battle to finish. X
This is such a common theme - as you say - getting your breathing right can be the most difficult thing and when the running is not in one long section it is harder to settle in to a rhythm.
Also, maybe you went a little faster - thinking it would be easier?
Truly, a lot of us found this one tough!
Try and relax about the next one - take your time and slow down further if you are struggling.
You’ve done it once - so you can defiantly do it again!! Well done 👍
Well done for getting through it. That run catches a lot of people out. W6 is a tough one but you can do it - you’ve come so far & I bet you never imagined that in W1? Everything you have done so far has prepared you for this- it really is a brilliant programme & it really does work. Good luck. Keep us posted.
Thanks everyone. Xx
I have also just done W6R1 and agree, it’s tough. (The app crashed on me which didn’t help).
Before I started the run today I made sure I’d had a cup of tea and two full glasses of water.
I wonder if maybe you weren’t as hydrated as you needed to be?
For the breathing issues, I find the in through the nose and out through the mouth doesn’t work for me, so I try to breathe into my belly as much as possible, timing it with my steps.
I’m sure there are expert “breathers” who can give you good ideas and info for how to carry on and get past this little hiccup.
R2 is just two days away. You can do it!
Well done for completing the run. I found W6 hard after the euphoria of running 20 mins on w5r3. But I just kept putting one foot in front of the other plodding slowly & managed to complete the week. The first run in week 7 was better. Sure you’ll be fine. Keep going, slow down & be encouraged that 5 short weeks ago you probably found running a minute was tough! Now look at you!!
It was your longest workout to date.
Are you running at an easy conversational pace, as described in the guide to the plan? healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Slow down.
