It’s getting to be the end of the season for people who Canicross, because it will soon be too hot to ask the dogs to do much.
That said, we’ve had a few really good evenings this past week where it’s been cool enough for slow and steady social runs:
Wednesday, Merlin and I joined a 5k round one of our most regular routes, and once again managed to run up my nemesis - the long, looooong, slope at the end of the run - without stopping. 👍
Friday we joined what was going to be a chatty 7k, but turned into a chatty 5k with lots of walking.
Yesterday, Saturday, we took part in a Canicross display at a dog show - and then did a lot of steps walking round all the stalls and ‘having a go’ at stuff.
Today we - along with Taylor ‘Swift’ Beagle - ran in what will be our last event of the season at Bedgebury Pinetum. If you ever get the chance to run there, you should, it’s a really nice place.
My left knee is feeling it a bit this afternoon, but if it’s okay in the morning, I’m planning to do W1 R1 on the sand at low tide.
Today’s result - 5k in just under 32 minutes (after I hit pause for doggy comfort breaks), which equated to just under 34 minutes gun time.
