I did my first park run today, it was alot harder than I expected (I expected it to be hard but blimey π²). I did the 5k doing the week 2 run with 90 seconds run and 2 mins walking. I'm repeating week 2 as still struggling with it. I still struggled to do every 90 second run but gave as good as I could. I finished the programme half way round and could have walked the rest but decided to do it twice so was still doing some running throughout the whole time. Whoever planned the route for the park run was mean cause they put the finish line at the top of a hill π. I finished in 52 minutes which I thought wasn't to bad for my first 5k. My knees weren't hurting as much today either thankfully which hopefully means they are getting stronger but I am still getting some knee supports just to be on the safe side. This is my third week of the couch to 5k (week 2 repeated) and it is challenging but a good challenge π, I'm usually quick to give up when things get hard with many excuses but so far still going π #majorlyproudofmyself
First parkrun: I did my first park run today, it... - Couch to 5K
First parkrun
Terrible that anyone can put the end of a parkrun at the top of a hill, you should complain to the organisers, who do they think the are, awful, why do they not put the start at the top of the hill and have the finishing line on a flat stretch or the bottom of the hill, that way most runners apart from the gazelles would have better times.
Well done, kez31, what a brilliant achievement! Might be worth checking if there is another Parkrun near you with a less hilly route?
My local ParkRun finishes with a Hill too.!! Near killed me today π
Well done on todayβs achievement ππ»
Well done. I"m on week 3 but hope to do a park run when I have finished the course
Well done, seems mean putting a hill at the end, makes your achievement doubly impressive! π
