W2R3 - not confident about W3..advice please?

So today I completed R3W2....after feeling great during W2R1, I struggled on run 2 and did again tonight on 3.

Right now I’m not feeling confident that I’m going to be ready for week 3, I know you can repeat a week but has anyone else felt like this on week 2 but been surprised to find week 3 if achievable? Thanks in advance for any shared experiences or advice.

You can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, that gives you more confidence on continuing with the course, just take all the runs slowly and once you are confident and comfortable with your performance you can go on to the next run or week. 😊

Specifically for those two weeks... yeah, I think there’s something about it that makes people fear it. There’s nothing in that run to be feared though... keep the pace down... trust the programme and believe in yourself.

If I believe that I can’t do something, my faith is always rewarded. In two weeks you’ve come a long way... think about that... shut the doubting voice out of your head... celebrate what you’ve done... relax before you run and go amaze yourself.

I felt the same at the end of week 2 but the first two runs of week three have been ok. Slow and a bit sore but I'm looking forward to the next one. I wasn't sure I could do it either so I just thought I'll give it a try and was amazed that three minutes is doable!

Give it a slow try :-)

Thanks all, I’m definitely going to give week 3 a go before a resort to repeating week 2, hopefully I will surprise myself...! I’m already feeling fitter then I was two weeks ago so I shall keep a PMA and hopefully (I will) smash week 3...! 🏃‍♀️💪😀.

There’s never a need to repeat a whole week. Should you not complete a run you’ll almost certainly run longer than the week before... that’s still progress, and this is all about making progress. Those 30 minute runs start off impossible for all of us, but with a little progress each run we all make the impossible merely challenging. Some do it in 27 runs... someone could take 127... then end result is the same... a fitter, healthier you with a longer life expectancy. Relax, there’s no pressure to nail every run... but with the pressure off yourself you are more likely to.

Week 3 is the shortest duration of all the weeks in C25K. You’ll be fine.

You can repeat a week and it will do no harm but as it states in the guide to the plan, if you have completed then you are ready for the next one.

We've all been there Em, you'll be fine. I wasn't confident about any of the weeks... i'm graduating tomorrow.

Just take it slow, try not to think about it too much, just get out there and give it a go. 🏃‍♀️

You’ll do it. The only way to fail is not to go out the door in your running kit! Once you’ve done that, the rest is practice and learning. If you don’t finish a run, you’ll still have practised part of it and that will make the next session go even better. Every time you run, both your body and your mind learn about being a runner.

Enjoy the process and learn about running & about yourself. You will get there! And we’re all cheering for you too. 🎉🎉👏🏼👏🏼

Perhaps slow it a bit. As this forum has taught me, it's not about speed or distance so if you're struggling, slow it down even more.

A colleague told me that each run would feel like the first... but with each run, you're getting fitter and stronger. This has really helped me get through the runs (not failed any yet and just completed week 8). I really struggled in the beginning but it really is a fab program, it works, stay with it, take it steady and you can do it. Good luck!

I felt exactly the same last week at the of week 2 but as others here have said, if you finished week 2, even if it was a struggle you should try week 3. I did run 2 wk 3 today and have been finding the longer runs better than lots of short ones in weeks 1 and 2 as I took I slow so as not to burn out and before I know 3 mins were up. If I can do it, I’m sure you can do. The key as far as I can make out is ‘slow it down and self belief’

Just relax... slow down and if you feel you are struggling slow down more... :) Try not to focus on repeating runs... yes of course you can..but..by relaxing and taking it really gently, you will find you gain confidence with each one.

If you complete, move on very steadily...think snail on a go slow:)
