Running in Bali ☀️🌴

Can you believe that I'm currently in Bali & I've just done a 30min run on the treadmill in the hotel gym?! 🏃‍♀️

I've been here over a week & haven't done any running since completing the C25K on the same day I came on holiday so I thought I'd give it a go. (Plus the hotel gym is even bigger than the one I use close to home AND I've been eating pancakes/waffles🥞🍫 & nutella the past few days for breakfast🐷!!)

It helped that I could see the pool & the beach beyond from the treadmill & of course that there is air con in the gym!!

Hopefully this post will give someone the inspiration to carry on with the C25K experience, as you can see that I enjoyed it so much, I've even continued whilst on holiday! 🌴

Happy running 😁🏃‍♀️

Wow well done you for running on holiday but it does make you feel better doesn’t it!

I had a bit of a wobble after graduation in terms of working out what to do but I would recommend just sticking to 30’ three times a week for 3-4 weeks and you’ll see massive progress. You’ll start having an idea during that time of what you want to do after. And now enjoy the beach!

Yes, my plan is definitely to stick to just 30 mins for a few more weeks, until I'm feeling super comfortable with it (I'm currently ok breathing wise but have to push my mind through it as it keeps telling my body to stop- I'm managing to ignore it so far!)

Have you found any apps for 5k+?

I didn’t really look, I think there is one on the nhs. You can join the bridge to 10km community which is the graduate hang out. I’ve just added duration to my runs bit by bit and 30’ now almost feels short which always surprises me. You’ll see, after a few weeks the 30’ will become fine!

I've found an app that I'm going to try, I'll stick to a few more 30 min runs first though. It's good to hear that 30 mins starts to feel easier the more you do it 😊

Yes definitely. I tried a plan nearly straight away and had awful runs so then I just went back to 30’ for a bit and it was much more enjoyable. NRC running app had a plan and in bridge to 10km you have juju magic plan

Thank you, I was made up to complete the c25k before my flight (just about!) The gym here is nice & cool but it was a bit different walking outside to hot air instead of cool! ☀️
