Hope you are all well. Last time I posted, I mentioned about running the c25k consecutively for 5 days. I managed to run the podcast right through for 5 days non stop and surprisingly did not get any pain. I put that to the weather warming up and my old bones seems to love it when I run in warm weather. I have over 20 odd years done exercise 5-6 days a week be it long distant walking in all climates for about 2 hours so my body is used to exercise.
Anyway I was doing well until we had that horrible non stop rain and windy weather and had not done any exercise since which upset me greatly. I've decided to buy a motorised treadmill so that I can do my exercise for 5-6 days a week. I've decided to run the c25k for three days and do one hour walk for 3 days for now.
I haven't run the c25k on a treadmill and wondered if anyone has and what they did? I mean it's different outdoors because you just walk or run but the treadmill is the time to walk and quicken the treadmill speed for the running.
Any advice would be great received.
have a good day all.

My main bit of advice would be don't run on consecutive days. Walking is fine, but the impact of running causes micro tears in your muscles. These repair and strengthen on your rest days, NOT while you are running. Rest days strengthen your body.
If you have been running regularly for a year or so, then you can consider running on consecutive days every now and then, but avoid a hard run following a hard run.
I've done most of my running on a treadmill, I started out that way and find it easier. I'm currently on week 5 and my next run is Day 2. In the last couple of weeks I have been mixing it up and doing some days again outside. My end goal is to run park run at a decent time, so it made no sense to me to do all on the treadmill when I found outside a lot harder. It's easier on the treadmill because you don't have to pace yourself the machine does it for you based on the speed you set. Find the speed you prefer for walking and running and stick to them for the whole runs and walks. Good luck
Thanks for your reply, I've familiarised myself with the treadmill but yet to use it to do the run.
I prefer to run outdoors but having the treadmill give me the chance to carry on with my exercise instead of waiting for the weather to sort itself out and lose days worth of exercises.
My aim is to do 5-6 continuous exercise running and walking.
Interestingly I find the opposite with outdoor running easier for me despite having done most of the programme on the mill. I find settling into a natural pace much better outdoors and I run quicker outdoors... I have started using the treadmill mainly for interval training.... started working my way through the 5k pacer app.
My runs outdoors are definitely quicker but I think that's why I find it harder as I go off too fast then really struggle to finish each run section! I'm trying to get better at pacing.
Thank you for your comments, as mentioned I've decided to do the 3 days and and 3 days walk for now and will go on my own speed. I'm not worrying about speed as such to that of keeping health, losing weight and keep the weight off.
I weighed myself this morning and has lost 3lbs. I'm happy with that.
